Han Shuo's mind was calm, his expression ruthless as he watched the high-ranking Temple Knight of the Church of Light slowly approaching on the warhorse. He held the Demonslayer Edge in his right hand. As the space ring flashed, a three-coloured bone staff appeared in his previously empty left hand.
Han Shuo was about to cast a high-level undead summoning spell when he saw the "Revelation" in Red Archbishop Kosse's hand burst into a vast, brilliant holy light. This divine artefact quickly flipped through its pages without a breeze, shocking even its owner.
The tricoloured bone staff of unknown material suddenly emitted brilliant yellow, blue and purple lights at the same time, the dark, evil power circulating madly. The lights of the three colours converged before shooting towards 'Revelation' on Kosse's hand.
A continuous fluttering sound emanated as 'Revelation' spun rapidly. With each page turned, a beam of light emerged, each light forming a miraculous word and joining a river of words flowing before Kosse. As soon as the miraculous words came into contact with the light from the tri-coloured bone staff, holy power and evil power exploded at the same time. Violent air surged and rushed in all directions between Han Shuo and Kosse.
The incoming temple knight who was challenging Han Shuo was pushed back by the terrifying force, along with the other two knights. Helen Tina was also overwhelmed by the pressure on the phoenix's back. She immediately struggled to higher ground and looked down in horror at the events below.
The Red Archbishop Kosse's previously refined and commanding posture had vanished without a trace. He stood there trembling slightly, cold sweat running down his body as he looked at Han Shuo in disbelief. He could feel the power all over his body pouring madly into the 'Revelation' in his hand. This had never happened before.
"The 'Revelation' was a book of scriptures in the Church of Light that had been left behind after Kosse's master had died. His luck had been excellent, he'd received this divine artefact after receiving the recognition of the God of Light in a baptism in the Temple of Light. The artefact had only been in his hands for three years, but Kosse's identity as the Grand Magus of Light and Wind had worked out well. Every time he'd used 'Revelation' against evil forces, the situation had always turned out well. He had never encountered this situation before.
As Han Shuo held the bone staff, the mental power in his entire being was also madly attracted to it. Like a large sponge, the bone staff quickly absorbed his mental energy. As the mental strength poured into the staff, it seemed to resonate with the magical power of the bone staff itself, eventually forming a strange tri-coloured light, all converging towards the 'revelation'.
Even though he was at the level of a Grand Magus, Han Shuo still felt a little dizzy when his mental energy was being sucked out by the bone staff. However, in addition to his amazingly strong body, his mind was also much more resolute than an ordinary person's. That was why he didn't tremble like Kosse, with cold sweat running down his body.
As the evil and holy powers intertwined, the terrifying impact swept away all obstacles between Han Shuo and Kosse. Rocks shattered wherever the force passed through, and the bald mountain shook violently and exploded where the impact spread. Huge rumbling sounds echoed incessantly in the area between the two people.
"This evil power is so enormous that I'm sure only the artefact of the Evil God of the Calamity Church can possess such power. Kill this ignorant heretic!" The temple knight had been knocked head over heels by the forces that had bounced back and forth between Han Shuo and Kosse. After struggling to his feet, he was inwardly terrified of Han Shuo's power as he saw Kosse's body tremble. He immediately proposed to use this opportunity to kill Han Shuo.
How could the Temple Knights not know how powerful Red Archbishop Kosse was? The divine artefact of 'Revelation' in his hands had been a nightmare for evil forces for many years. He hadn't expected that a weak, petty heretic like the one they were facing would be able to compete with Red Archbishop Kosse. He was afraid of Han Shuo's immense power, so he proposed the idea of killing him.
The remaining two Temple Knights watched the scene unfold before them as they stood to the side. Upon hearing their brother's suggestion, they immediately turned their warhorses towards Han Shuo without saying a word.
Carefully avoiding the centre of the still rumbling explosion, the three Temple Knights approached Han Shuo from the rear and two sides. In the holy light that flashed from 'Revelation', they began to chant praises to the glory of the God of Light. Streams of combat aura filled with divine power flared from their spears and attacked Han Shuo.
Seeing the despicable act of the Church of Light, Helen Tina curled her lips with a trace of contempt. However, Han Shuo was her enemy, while the Church of Light was not an entity that a little duchess could insult. She just stood there in silence, happily watching.
Han Shuo's mental power poured into the bone staff at a high speed. Coldly facing Kosse in a difficult battle, he also had to guard against the three temple knights who were quickly approaching. He could neither move his body nor use his mental power. But his demonic magic was still available. Under the control of his mind, a stream of magical Yuan flowed into the Demonslayer's Edge in his right hand.
Having recently absorbed a massive amount of souls, the Demonslayer's Edge now had a faint trace of the terrifying killing intent that belonged to an incomparable weapon. After being infused with magical yuan, it was like a murderous magical beast that'd gotten the delicious smell of blood after being trapped for tens of thousands of years. The Demonslayer Edge suddenly moved of its own accord, leaving Han Shuo's hand with a loud howl.
A dense mass of star-like spots gathered into clouds of blood. The Demonslayer Edge's endless resentment and tyrannical murderous intent had formed a massive layer of bloody-red clouds. The bloody clouds darkened more than half of the sky above the bald mountain.
The thick stench of blood seemed to contain an attack on the soul. The three Temple Knights weren't the only ones who felt that the situation had taken a turn for the worse. Even Helen Tina, who'd soon flown high up, was surrounded by the vicious, terrifying air of endless fear. Her head was dizzy, her chest was heavy with the urge to vomit, and a crazy obsession was beginning to grow in her heart.
Helen Tina knew it was very bad. She hastily chanted a spell to create a fiery red magical barrier that enveloped both herself and the phoenix. The phoenix's wings were like a colourful ribbon, flashing sparks of fire every time they flapped. Fiery light shot out of the fire magic cage in all directions.
She finally managed to suppress the nauseous feeling that made her want to vomit. She pushed the phoenix away from Han Shuo, angry and somewhat frightened as she watched the battle of the two weapons above the mountain valley.
The murderous intent that reached the sky from the Demonslayer's Edge had even formed an attack on the soul. Its target wasn't Helen Tina in the sky, so she was able to defend herself, albeit with some difficulty, using the fire magic cage and the purifying fire of the phoenix. On the other hand, the three Temple Knights of the Church of Light weren't as comfortable as she was.
The Demonslayer's Edge danced wildly above Han Shuo's head. The murderous intent of this incomparable weapon wasn't weak at all against the other divine artefact. With the Demonslayer's Edge as the centre, layers upon layers of thick clouds turned the entire sky above the mountain a bloody red. The three temple knights who'd tried to seize the opportunity to attack Han Shuo were violently shaken by the soul attack. Their war horses let out a scream and fell down. The three knights jumped down with stumbling steps, their bodies shaking. Blood spurted from their nostrils and ran down their necks and chests like two wriggling worms.
For a moment, the three Temple Knights didn't know what to do in the face of this unfamiliar evil power. This evil power wasn't like the quiet, mysterious darkness of the Calamity Church. It was a mad, furious bloodlust with the cruelty and arrogant desire to destroy everything.
The three Temple Knights had to raise their spears and chant loudly in order to gain more holy power as they suffered through soul-piercing agony. Brilliant halos flashed across their bodies as they constantly fought back against the power that was penetrating their flesh.
The Demonslayer's Edge had mobilised every ounce of its stored deadly soul force after absorbing ninety percent of Han Shuo's magic yuan. It formed an evil magnetic field that also possessed the ability to attack the soul, and began to erode the essence of any living being trapped within it.
"Revelation was already fighting against the invasion of the tricoloured bone staff. Kosse couldn't help but groan audibly as he saw Han Shuo's Demonslayer Edge display an unfamiliar terrifying power.
The Demonslayer Edge spun in a circle around Han Shuo's head and slowly gathered a beam of bloody light to fire at Kosse. Kosse desperately controlled his mental power and chanted an incantation after biting the tip of his tongue. A flower of blood bloomed on one of the pages of Revelation. The divine artefact immediately stopped turning the pages and was quickly put away by Kosse.
The Bone Staff, which seemed to be struggling with its rival, also immediately became dull and stopped absorbing Han Shuo's mental power as Kosse quickly withdrew 'Revelation'. Only the bloody beam of light from the Demonslayer's Edge continued to shoot at Kosse.
