Han Shuo conveniently shoved all five piles of collected items from the mountain into his space ring. Suddenly, he saw a huge halo of holy light shining on the ground in the distance. He instinctively felt a disgust for this holy, pure light. A faint wisp of smoke drifted up into the light and spread across the sky and earth.
After collecting all the valuables in the bald mountain, Han Shuo looked up and saw the over three thousand zombies that had been running towards the Helon Duchy turned to ashes as they were bathed in the holy light. After a short span of a few minutes, none were left.
Through the Yin Demons, Han Shuo saw a group of four gracefully drifting over on the backs of war horses. Three of them wore silver-grey armour with the cross of the Church of Light engraved on their chests. The fourth was a light mage in white robes, a thick book of scripture in his hand. A great holy power overflowed with each page of the book.
Helen Tina advanced at their side on the back of the fire phoenix. Her beautiful face full of fury and cold killing intent, she quickly approached the bald peaked mountain.
A Yin demon was watching them and was about to close in on them when the white-robed mage with the scriptures in his hand seemed to spot them. His bright and wise eyes stared directly in the direction of the Yin Demon, as he flicked through the scriptures in his hand. A bundle of white light suddenly shot out of one page and hit the invisible Yin Demon in a second.
The Yin Demon that Han Shuo had spent a great deal of resources refining was enveloped in a strange force when it was hit by the white beam. It was instantly reduced to ashes. Even Han Shuo's soul brand on it had vanished.
A pair of thin eyes opened in the sky above Han Shuo. The white-robed light mage abruptly closed the scriptures, his eyes piercing through layers and layers of obstacles to nail down Han Shuo's body. The mage's peaceful voice echoed softly, "He is on the bald mountain.
The three silver-armoured temple knights urged their warhorses forward at the same time. The warhorses moved like whirlwinds, galloping swiftly towards the mountain. The white-robed mage leisurely dismounted his warhorse and floated up, his speed even faster than that of the three Temple Knights on warhorses.
Helen Tina, who was riding the fire phoenix at a low altitude, let out a soft, angry cry when she heard the mage's words. The fire phoenix instantly shot into the air, searing a blazing red trail across the sky and reaching the mountain in the span of a few breaths.
Han Shuo's anger had been ignited when the Yin Demon was reduced to ashes. At the same time, he had become aware of the terrifying power of the Church of Light. In particular, this light mage holding the scriptures could easily kill a Yin Demon with a simple gesture. Han Shuo was immediately on guard against this mysterious person and his scriptures.
With the high speed of the Demonic Ninth Heaven Art and the Earth Elite Zombie becoming invisible inside the Earth, Han Shuo wasn't worried about escaping. That's why he didn't decide to retreat when he saw the Sky Eyes above his head. He wanted to at least face the light mage who had destroyed his Yin Demon and assess the situation before deciding whether or not to temporarily retreat.
The Sky Eye forming above his head required a constant supply of mental power from the caster. When the light mage realised that Han Shuo was staying in the same place, he stopped feeding the Celestial Eye with mental energy and withdrew it immediately.
Helen Tina landed in front of Han Shuo like a flame under the brilliant sunlight in her fiery red magic robes. She was about twenty-eight years old. Her soft expression covered in a layer of frost, she stared at him coldly from the super-ranked magical creature and shouted, "The six magic crystal cannons, hand them back to me now!"
Han Shuo looked up at her with a calm and natural expression. He pouted before saying with a bland smile, "This is just some interest from your Helon Duchy. Remember, these six magic crystal cannons are just the beginning. I will make you spit out everything you people have taken from us over the past few years."
"Who are you?" Helen Tina burned with rage as she heard his words. However, she seemed to remember something and asked him for his identity.
"Hehehe, you will know." Han Shuo replied casually. Then he stopped caring about her and focused all his attention on the light mage who'd arrived by now.
"Please come with us to visit the Church of Light. As long as you confess your sins, the God of Light will forgive your reckless arrogance". The Red Archbishop Kosse looked peaceful, as if he were the host inviting his guest.
Kosse and Ferguson were both Grand Magi. Kosse, however, was a wind mage as well as a light mage. He also possessed the divine artefact "Revelation" of the Church of Light. He could borrow divine power from it, so his power was much higher than that of the Grand Magus of Light Ferguson.
Kosse was only forty-five years old, but he had the honour of serving as the acclaimed Red Archbishop. This indicated that he was no ordinary character. The only person above the rank of Red Archbishop was the messenger of the God of Light, the Pope. As the youngest Red Archbishop ever, he was the most promising candidate to become the next Pope.
"Sorry, I have no time." Han Shuo looked at Kosse from afar and flatly refused.
The three galloping temple knights had finally caught up. They had come on the backs of their warhorses because the road on the bald mountain wasn't too windy. Standing on the mountain, Han Shuo looked into the distance and saw a team of a dozen silver-armoured knights gradually materialising. They seemed to have been left behind by the four of Kosse's group.
"My lord, we need waste no words on this heretic. He brutally killed Lord Ferguson. He should be burned for that sin." A Temple Knight gave Han Shuo a cold look and suggested to Kosse.
The Temple Knights were a group of dedicated fanatics, completely loyal to the God of Light. They possessed extraordinary power themselves. Only when the God of Light recognised their existence and bestowed a blessing upon them could they qualify as Temple Knights. The favour each Temple Knight received varied according to the strength of their faith and their own efforts.
The strength of the Temple Knights could be distinguished by the amount of divine favour bestowed upon them. Those who received a small amount of favour would wear the insignia of the Holy Grail on the chest of their armour. Those who received a lesser amount would have the olive branch insignia, and those with a great deal of favour would have the cross insignia.
Knights of the Temple who had received the blessing of a miracle could display their power to the full. This type of Temple Knight was extremely rare and few, their insignia on the chest of their armour was a statue of an angel, and their strength was comparable to that of a Sacred Knight. If such a Templar were a Sacred Knight himself, his strength would be even more terrifying.
However, these Temple Knights were simply too rare in the Church of Light. Under normal circumstances, they wouldn't randomly leave the Temple of Light, so those with the cross insignia on their chest were already the most powerful outside. At that moment, three of those Cross-wearing Temple Knights were staring at Han Shuo with fervent, frenzied eyes. Han Shuo became cautious when he saw this kind of stubborn madness that only belonged to stubborn religious followers.
"Bryan, please come with us to the Church of Light to give a clear explanation. I guarantee that the God of Light will forgive your recklessness, no matter how grave your sins. At most, you will be imprisoned within the Church, we won't take your life. The Red Archbishop secretly remembered the Lancelot Empire's warning and tried his best to sound polite.
"Bryan? So you are indeed the unfortunate new Lord of Brettel City. I finally understand the meaning of your words. Hmph, you dare to take my magic crystal cannons, you just don't care about the lives of your people!" Helen Tina had completely understood. Her pretty eyes bored into Han Shuo's body as she snorted.
"You can try. Any duchy that dares to sack Brettel City will have to pay the price." Han Shuo remained unmoved, only glancing at Helen Tina with a cold warning. Then he slowly pulled out the Demonslayer Edge and nodded to the Temple Knight who had spoken first, "Come on, brave Temple Knight. As long as you win against me, I'll consider following you to the Church of Light. I don't think your Church of Light will gang up on me, will they?"
"But a despicable necromancer doesn't need another one of us to make a move." The temple knight swung his silver spear to point at Han Shuo and spoke in a righteous, awe-inspiring manner.
The silver spear shone with a brilliant silver light. Han Shuo had long been familiar with this kind of silver combat aura. However, in addition to the energy of the silver combat aura, the silver spear also contained pure divine power. When the strange divine power merged with the combat aura, the combination was much more powerful than the simple silver combat aura.
The Templar Knights had traded their faithful, unwavering beliefs for the blessings of the God of Light, and had gained a strange power in addition to the Combat Aura they had bitterly cultivated. The strange power not only protected them from the erosion of evil power, but also gave them the ability to purify the evil in this world.
Normally, the damage done to Templar Knights by dark and necromantic spells was extremely limited. The Templar had a very strong defence against even high-level dark and necromancy spells, with a terrifying lethality. On the other hand, the Templar's weapons, combined with the power bestowed upon them by their god, were terribly deadly to mages of the two aforementioned ranks. Any undead creature touched by the silver spear would be unable to withstand it and would be instantly reduced to ashes.
