By the time the sun was rising in the sky, they had been following the road that cut inside the wilderness. The road was made by the constant usage of carriages that transported merchants.
The road itself was just at the edge of the wilderness but it served its purpose. If they should follow it through they would see the road curve around the wilderness, going around to the other side.
The wilderness was darker than the outside because of all the tall trees that spread their branches high up in the heavens. This made the undergrowth suffer for it as the larger trees take the most nutrients.
Even in the forest, Belialthorn thought. The trees fought for supremacy.
And it was alive. Insects and birds screamed their lungs out and some monsters' roar could be heard. Small animals and monsters darted around.
