Aelorin barely suppressed the rising panic in his chest. Damn it... He spun on his heel, summoning his daggers once more, crossing them just in time to block the Tyrant's snapping jaws from tearing him in half. The creature's bite force was monstrous, sending a shockwave that blew sparks and dying embers into the air around them. Aelorin's arms strained, and he felt the steel of his daggers groaning under the pressure, tiny cracks forming along their blades.

Desperation fueled him. With a quick intake of breath, he summoned a thread of Mana to his mouth, slackening his jaw just slightly before releasing a jet of scorching fire directly into the beast's gaping maw. The flames shot through the Tyrant's throat, igniting its insides and forcing it to stagger back with an ear-splitting shriek. The smell of charred flesh filled the air as the creature reared, momentarily stunned, its eyes wide with pain and rage.
