End Of the Day

Demyan

Ethan looked pale as he quietly drank his tea. His eyebrows were so close to one another they almost formed a unibrow and he had a permanent pout on his lips. I knew what I just told him was a bombshell, it was a bombshell to me as well when Malia had suggested it. It was something I never thought she would ever consider so it was a lot to digest.

Even though I had no absolute faith in Ethan to not break my heart again, I desperately wished he could just sort himself out so we could try. Yet I knew he saw me as tainted for whatever reason so I was not going to raise my hopes up high, he always managed to disappoint in some way.

"I think I'm going to bed," I sighed as I took my laptop and switched it off, "I have a few conference calls in the morning."

He nodded slowly as he watched me rise from my seat.
