Beyond Human Comprehension

Year 1232

It's been roughly a thousand years since the mass cataclysm caused by The Azure Demon. The human has finally started to establish their own kingdom century ago. If it's not because the effort of the Red Hawks in the past then the world might be perished. And because of that they started a religion with them as angels and a mysterious god called Aldnael that supposedly helped the heroes fend off the cosmic entities which invaded from the dimensional rift.

Now, everything is over. And humanity has finally develop their civilization once again. Or so they thought.

When in reality, those things is just a dream. Everything has been devastated and humanities fell into an eternal slumber and their bodies slowly corrupted and becoming a mindless beast.

The sky is everdark and littered with many dimensional cracks which spew out some vile energy from time to time. Because of this, the sun appeared distorted and taken form as a moon resulting in evernight ambience.

At this time, a soul has finally recovered inside the dimensional rift. It then drifted out from the sealed rift and expanded upon its arrival. Soon it began transform into a humanoid figure without a distinct feature.

"Tch.. As expected. Now everyone has become a mindless beast. Luckily I've prepared a plan in case that octopus betrayed me. I better search for a body before my soul dissipates."

The soul is actually Elc's spirit body. Luckily he successfully planted his core spiritual inside the dimensional rift to give himself a second chance when everything goes wrong. But as a result, right now he lost his physical body and he would be racing against time from now on.

"A spirit body need a physical body to survive. Yet the requirement is not so simple. Only a body of the same living being could hold a spirit body for long. Even that need to be a healthy body, when a corpse could only hold a soul until it rotten. Well it's lucky that my body have been removed or I have to faced a terifying beast which is myself. For now I could use the soil in here.."

With that Elc use some of his spirit as catalyst to pull some ether and use it to create his body. Soon a chubby and tiny humanoid golem emerged from the ground in front of him.

"..."

Such outcome clearly made him speechless.

"I've never expected that the surrounding Ether has been corrupted to this point. Anyway it's still good as long as I can use it."

With that said, Elc quickly integrated his spirit body into the tiny and chubby humanoid golem he created. The golem's eyes soon glowed with azure light as it began to move. It then tilt it's head, trying to examined its own body. After some inspection it sighed, "It seems that I could only use it to nurture my soul for three days before it crumbled. At least, that's enough time for me to unlock some shackles I placed into myself. And slowly but surely restore my humanity. Now, let us search for some items I left behind and proceed to gather materials to nurture my soul."

Then the chubby little golem started to move its stumpy legs. Even though Elc has tried to walk normally yet with such build he couldn't help but doing a stiff gait.

"I need to refine this body a little bit before I could find another body outside." Elc thought as he tried his best to move into his hideout.

The damp air filled the underground base and since it's been so many years. It condensed to an environment that would made any living being feel suffocated. Even if Elc didn't need to breathe as a golem, it doesn't mean that he's completely unaffected. His body which was made out of soil would eventually crumbled if exposed to wet environment for a prolonged period of time.

After walking for a while Elc encountered a pile of earth blocking his path.

"Huh.. It seems that everything has been burried down here." He said as he examined the pile of earth. After examining the condition for a while. He still couldn't figure out what is the cause of it.

"It seems that I couldn't access it for the time being. How unfortunate, if only I could get my 'Arcane Book' then everything would be easier. Well let's go to the lab. I remember I left my 'Ether Core' in there."

Elc then turned his golem body and go to another direction. After a while he found that the path has also been blocked.

"What the.. but how.. how did this happened? As far as I remembered I have built this place to withstand a harsh environment. At least a thousand years is still not enough to completely burried the structure? Now at the time like this I would like to have all of my memories so I could perform some ether tricks. Alas, I need to lock some of my memories so that my spirit body wouldn't be too burdened and quickly evaporate into the air. Well it's not the time to complain. I need to explore this place. Who knows if I'll find something useful at the same time."

Just like that, Elc then started rumaging around his base. Sometimes he found a useful material and sometimes he would found some utilities, such as a knife and a backpack. Though what he found is just a trash that scattered around his base. Surprisingly, all of his most valuable items all have been burried underground. It's just too much of a coincidence for him not to notice it.

"Something's not right. I better leave once I checked the last valuable item's location."

This time, he found out that the path is clear. Although it's dangerous if he proceed since something's not right, but his eventual predicament if he didn't get any of his prepared equipments forced him to take the risk.

"I'll go in and out quickly, it should be okay."

with that he began dashing with his golem stumpy legs. And then finally entered the library where he saw a gem like object glowing with emerald hue. He rushed into it and grab it when suddenly, the ground tremored. It seems like the structure's foundation just vanished into a thin air.

"Impossible, how could the building suddenly go limp? I didn't even feel any ether disturbances just now. Whatever, I need to get out of here ASAP!"

Elc then run for his dear life. Though a spirit body couldn't possibly be crushed under ruins. But his golem body will. And when his golem body get destroyed before it fully sychronized, then his spirit body would get damaged and it 'll be a problem since it took a long time for it to heal without a body.

But, just as he nearly escaped. The ground in front of him suddenly collapsed.
