Mayhem In The Science Lab

Her mother's voice echoed through the bedroom,sharp and impatient "Come on Maya,you're gonna be late for school" Maya's mother said.

  Maya,an high school student with a level-headed demeanor responded back in a shrilling voice " mum, I'm coming"

    Maya knew that her parents had high standards for her, and she had always felt the pressure to excel in everything she did. Her parents were both successful businesspeople, and they expected the same from their only child. Maya had struggled at times to meet their expectations, but she always tried her best. Despite the demands of her education and extracurricular activities, Maya somehow managed to maintain a positive attitude. But on this particular morning, as she got ready for school, she felt the weight of responsibility bearing down on her.

As she replied once again hurrying down the stairs" mum,I won't be able to wait and eat breakfast,see you soon love you" as she pecked her mum on the cheek.

"Your friends have been waiting for you at the door,they refuse to enter as they're gonna be late,they're....." ,"WHAT" said Maya cutting her mum short " .... and you didn't tell me" as her mum urged her to move forward as she banged the door in Maya's face and waved her friends good bye.

     "I'm so sorry guys,I kinda woke up really tired and annoyed about the fact that we have a project to complete at the science lab today and....."  Maya ranted on as she packed her long blonde hair in a bun showing them a smile as chloe cut her short "its really fine Maya, we're gonna scale through" she said as she also combs her own curly brown hair as they keep walking towards the school entrance which isn't far from their houses since they all live opposite each other .

As they approached their classroom,Andrew; the shy and introverted guy in the midst of Chloe and Maya who has been their only male friend since he started Vale Academy,a tall and thin dark boy with a dimple on the left side of his cheek turns his head slightly to stare at Maya unnoticed and looks away quickly before she catches him staring as they make their way to their various seats and brings out their book to start the class.

    After the end of the class,the three friends decided to go to the science lab and finish up their project,Maya,took her bag with her and dragged the sleeping Chloe up in hurried steps as Andrew followed behind,they reached the science lab, turned the doorknob open and entered as they began to put on their lab coats and goggles. Screams were heard in the hallway as Maya and her friends ignored it to be some students pulling a prank though Chloe wanted to check it out,Maya held her back.

   Maya,a petite girl with long straight blonde hair and a friendly smile is seen with her lab coat and googles in the science lab as she keeps reading the instructions in her manual and performing the experiment given to her and her two friends as a project by their science teacher,as she does this,Chloe an average height girl with curly hair keeps asking her questions while the other, Andrew a thin tall boy with dark skin and a dimple with dark curly hair and blue eyes occasionally steals glances at Maya and hopes that she one day notices him when suddenly three students barged hurriedly into the science lab  and closed the door,at the same time,Maya was trying to put some of the content contained in the burette in her hand when it mistakenly splashed on a source of particle accelerator and....

BOOM!,there was a explosion which left behind a misty air and when the mist was gone, all six of them were struggling to get off the floor when they started feeling strange.

What had just happened?

  A red-haired girl,Madison wakes up and feels a strange tingling sensation in her hands. Suddenly, a nearby computer monitor bursts into flames. Madison is shocked and terrified, unsure what's happening. As the other students wake up, they notice the computer monitor on fire and look to Maya in alarm. Maya tries to explain that she didn't mean to set the computer as she looks at her two friends Ethan and Ben and realizes that they are still gaining consciousness after the explosion as  she notices a blonde haired girl,maya.

     Maya wakes up feeling different, too. She notices that her body feels more flexible and agile. She flexes her arm and notices that it seems to stretch longer than usual. As she experiments with her newfound ability, they're both amazed and skeptical. But then they notice that Madison hands are glowing with a red light, "what the hell is happening" maya thinks as the others also begin to wake up, Andrew; Maya's friend wakes up feeling different too, Andrew wakes up and immediately feels different. He notices that he can move objects with his mind, just by thinking about them. At first, he's elated by his new power, but he soon realizes that it's hard to control. As he tries to move a pencil on the table, it flies across the room and smashes into the wall. The other students are startled and worried.

Chloe wakes up feeling lighter than air. She stands up and finds that she's floating a few inches off the ground. At first, she's thrilled by her newfound power, but then she realizes that she can't control it. She tries to land, but she keeps floating higher and higher. The other students are both amazed and concerned, and they try to help Chloe figure out how to control her power as Andrew is still trying to control his telekinesis and Maya is shape shifting constantly.

  Ben wakes up and realizes that time has slowed down around him. He looks at the clock on the wall and sees that it's ticking at half the normal speed. He tries to move, but he's moving in slow motion. He notices that the other students are moving normally, but everything around him is moving slowly. He tries to speed up his movements, but it's like he's wading through water. Then he notices that all of the other students are also acting weird

Lastly, Ethan wakes up feeling cold, even though the room is warm. He looks down at his hands and notices that they're glowing blue. As he focuses his thoughts, he realizes that he can create ice with his mind. Excited by his power, he creates a small ice sculpture of a snowflake. But then he accidentally freezes the water pipes in the lab, and water starts pouring out of the walls. The other students are starting to panic, and Ethan doesn't know how to stop the water.

Suddenly, the sound of a fire alarm fills the air. It's deafening and shrill, and it seems to go on forever. The students cover their ears in pain, and they can barely hear each other over the sound. The water from the ceiling is still pouring out, soaking everything in the room. Ben knows that he needs to do something to stop the water, but he's not sure how. He tries to use his powers to freeze the water,but he doesn't knows how and then just as Ben is trying to figure out what to do next, the door to the lab bursts open. A tall, imposing figure stands in the doorway, surveying the scene. The students stare in shock, frozen in place. The figure takes a step forward, and Ben can finally see who it is.He stares at the students, his eyes full of anger and disappointment.
