Several days had passed since Amy forgave Billy, and the end of September was upon them. Despite this, Billy still hesitated to make a move on Amy, fearing rejection more than another slap.

One afternoon, with no classes to attend, Billy navigated the university hallways with a stack of heavy files in hand, destined for the staffroom. Amy was diligently working on her laptop as Billy approached her desk.

"Here, ma'am," Billy said, setting the files down. His efforts to impress Amy had turned him into somewhat of a teacher's pet, a role he embraced proudly.

"Thank you, Billy Scott. You're always so helpful," Amy replied, offering a warm smile.

"You can always count on me, ma'am," Billy affirmed, tapping his chest proudly.

"Anyway, I'll see you on Monday, ma'am," Billy said, preparing to leave. However, Amy called out to him before he could exit.

"You mentioned you work at a nearby café. Where is it?" she inquired casually, though her curiosity was piqued.

"Oh, it's just across the street from our university," Billy responded.

"Well, I might finish up early today, so I thought I'd explore the cafes in the area," Amy explained.

"In that case, you should definitely visit my workplace. I'm sure you'll love it, ma'am," Billy suggested with a smile.

"Okay, I'll see you there at 5 pm this evening," Amy replied, turning her attention back to her laptop.

"Great. See you then," Billy said, making his way out of the room.

After Billy's figure disappeared from her sight amy sighed, "why was he slow? Who will wait for two years to impress a woman?" She mummered.

"Maybe I slapped him that hard?" She said looking at her palm which slapped Billy on the first day and smiled as it was the only physical interaction she had with him.

In the evening, Amy stood outside the café, hesitating before entering. "Should I go in?" she wondered, though she eventually mustered the courage to step inside.

Inside, the café boasted a cozy atmosphere, with most of the seats already occupied. A waitress, dressed in the café's uniform, greeted Amy as she entered.

Amy settled at a table near the counter, scanning the room for a familiar face, but he was nowhere to be found.

"Did he leave already, despite my promise to visit?" Amy questioned herself, her thoughts racing.

Just then, the manager called out for Billy to assist with taking orders, indicating the bustling nature of the café.

Responding promptly, Billy emerged from the staffroom, dressed in his work uniform. Amy couldn't help but feel relieved to see him still there, a small smile forming on her lips.

"Oh," Billy acknowledged Amy's presence, approaching her with a warm greeting. "Amy ma'am, welcome."

"Hi, could you take my order?" Amy asked, to which Billy responded, "Of course, just tell me what you'd like."

"I'll have a café latte," Amy ordered, to which Billy replied, "It'll be ready in just 5 minutes."

As Billy went to fulfill her order, Amy watched him go, unable to shake the thought, "He looks cute in that uniform."

A few minutes later, Amy sat enjoying her café latte while observing Billy at work.

Suddenly, her eyes widened as she noticed Billy approaching a group of college girls to take their orders.

Although she couldn't hear their conversation, it was evident that the girls were flirting with Billy. Despite being oblivious to their advances, Billy responded to them in his usual friendly manner.

For the first time, Amy felt a twinge of jealousy and anger bubbling inside her. "How dare those girls flirt with my guy? He literally proposed to me," she seethed silently in her mind, her anger simmering beneath the surface.

Watching Billy laugh along with the girls' banter only served to fuel Amy's frustration. "Why are you entertaining them, you idiot?" she muttered under her breath, her gaze filled with thinly veiled contempt towards the girls.

As Billy excused himself from the interaction, Amy felt a sense of satisfaction wash over her. She watched with a satisfied smile as he walked away from the girls, leaving the situation behind.

In the evening, as usual, Billy started the game to play with his online friend, Seraphicsavior. Recently, Seraphicsavior had been online most often and accepted team requests instantly from Billy.

"Hey kid, what's today's progress?" asked Saviour.

"About my crush? Today she visited the café where I work. I'm really happy to finally see her outside of the campus," Billy sent these three messages instantly, delighted by serving Amy.

On the other side, Amy looked at the messages and smiled at his words. It was as if she had won something.

"Does she know that you were working there before she came?" Amy sent a message to him.

"Yes, she asked where I work this afternoon and came to the shop," Billy, aka steelsoul, replied.

"Wow," Amy replied with an emoji, followed by another message, "she seems to have started having interest in you," she said.

"Really?" Billy replied, "so is my progress good?"

"Yeah, next time try asking her out for coffee or something," Amy suggested, to which Billy instantly replied, "No."

"Why?" Amy inquired.

"Maybe this progress is good. If I ask something like that, it may ruin my progress," Billy replied, ending suggestions once again.

Amy slammed her PC desk in frustration. "Damn progress, how many hints do I have to give you?" she frustratedly exclaimed.

Amy leaned back in her chair in disappointment. "What should I do with this stubborn idiot," she sighed and started the game.

On the weekend, Billy stuck to his routine of working on his body, opting for a jog at the nearby park in Oakridge. It was his customary weekend activity.

The park was expansive, dotted with numerous large trees and benches scattered throughout.

During his final lap of jogging, Billy noticed something peculiar and slowed his pace. He spotted a figure dressed in pink perched on a tree branch. Intrigued, he approached cautiously to investigate. As he drew nearer, he observed a girl wearing a pink hoodie, her back turned towards him, preventing him from seeing her face.

Concerned, Billy realized that the branch she was on appeared to be on the verge of breaking, which could lead to her falling. Reacting swiftly, he ran towards her to warn her. However, before he could reach her, the branch snapped, and she began to fall.

Apologies for the delayed chapter today. I had to run errands and grocery shopping, which turned out to be quite chaotic. Later in the evening, just as I was about to start working, my favorite team in a league match was playing exceptionally well, so I got completely engrossed in watching them.

Thanks for your understanding, and I appreciate you taking the time to read.
