Chapter 5

"What the hell?" I groaned at the clanging sounds from the kitchen and stood up.

"What the hell is wrong with this idiot?" I picked my phone and checked the time. I sat up and slid my legs into my slides, walking out of the room.

"What the heck, Mr. Pierce? Its 4am and you're making so much noise!" I told him angrily and he just smiled like he was watching a movie with a happy ending.

"To make up for last night, I made us breakfast!" He grinned and my left eye twitched unconsciously.

"I have work...in a few hours." I said and took a deep breath.

"And you woke me up ...to tell me that you made breakfast?" I shut my eyes and pinched my nose.

"Look, I'm really sorry about the remark i made and um...your sauce-"

"Its stew..." I corrected and he looked very confused...it was a little cute seeing a grown ass man look like a five year old who was told that Santa was a female.

"What?" He said and I looked at the dining table with fancy covered dishes.

'I might as well enjoy free breakfast at four in the morning' I thought to myself and was about to sit down when he rushed towards me and pulled my chair out.

A smile tempted to crawl unto my face but I bit the insides of my cheeks and sat down. He ran towards the chair on my right side and pulled out a chair then sat down.

"So...I copied a few recipies online and I made you sauce-"

"Stew" I corrected again and he looked even more confused than the first time.

'Cute' I thought to myself.

"Its stew...not sauce" his lips rounded and I nodded awkwardly.

"Well, it might not be half as good as yours." He looked nervous and I smiled before shaking my head. I uncovered the plate and was met with a black looking stew.

"What-"

"It might look bad but its not" he quickly added and I hummed, feeling too repelled by the sight of the food.

"Is this even edible?" I muttered and picked a fork. I started eating and if I didn't have any self-control, the whole food would be all over his pretty face. I glanced at him and saw him eating comfortably.

"There's too much salt in this..." I pushed the food away and when I looked back at him, his face had dropped.

"Oh...It didn't taste-"

"Its fine" I stood up and tightened my robe.

"I'll go prepare for work" I informed him before walking down the hallway and then into my room.

As soon as I entered my room, I pulled my robe off and took a shower, feeling bad about how I left the table.

'He put in some effort' I thought to myself as I stepped out of the bathroom.

I decided on an animal skin leather skirt with a white shirt and pearl white kitten heels.

I braided my hair into two and did my edges then grabbed my laptop bag and my handbag. I left the room after spritzing a little amount of my favorite perfume.

As soon as I came out of the room, I heard noise from the living room and I walked out.

"You're not going to the office?" I asked as he sat on my favourite couch. I walked towards the fridge and pulled out a chocolate bar.

"Not today" he answered and looked up at me.

"Alright then....um...thank you for breakfast." I managed to spit out and he smiled. He licked his lips and nodded.

"Yeah, I'll see you later tonight?" He asked and I nodded, walking out of the house, my heart racing for some reason.

"Bye" he called from the window and I wove at him. I entered my car and sped off like I was under a spell.

"Yes ma'am" I answered with a nod and carried the files back to my office. The third round of files this morning.

Sometimes, I just hate that I have to be an adult.

"Ugh!" I groaned and kicked my door open with my shoes.

I dropped them on the table and stepped out of the heels then sat down in my seat.

My phone rang from where I was charging it and I glanced at the Caller ID then groaned.

"What again, Sammy?" I whispered to myself before picking the call.

"Hey?" His rich deep voice reached my ears and I licked my lips. He probably just finished smoking.

"Hi"

"Shey we dey fight ni?" He chuckled and I rolled my eyes.

"I'm at work, Sammy"

"And?"

"And you're being a pest"

"A pest that fucked the hell out of you" he laughed and I rolled my eyes.

'Yup, he just smoked and now... He's high'

"I still love you, you know?"

"Of course" I answered

"Don't do this, Aduke. I love you and you know it!"

"I am not in the mood for this nonsense that you're doing o, Samuel!"

"Chill, calm down" he whispered and I hung up with a groan

"Why do I attract the most stupid guys?" I wondered before going back to work.
