Entwined Destinies: Demons & Dungeons

Dying at the near beginning of adulthood, our main character finds himself born in a futuristic version of his original world.   The times have changed, and with that, all the things that were theorized to happen in his old world have nearly all come to pass.   Deciding to focus on himself, he put his gaming addiction to rest and tried to become something. However, when a new game called Entwined Destinies came out that was essentially an almost new reality put into a game, he had to try it.   Streaming the game to a small audience, he rapidly grew when the Chaos and Daemons update dropped, as he was one of the most prized champions of the blood god!   His reign was short-lived, as his life was taken by someone who had broken into his house and killed him live on stream.   Now this weird screen sits in front of him.   [Please design a personality for your Demon King.] (Please keep in mind that no one gets a happy ending in 40K.) Chapter 7 - Floor 2?

"Speech"

'Thoughts'

[System]

(First POV: Boros)

[June 6th, 23:10:30, 2248]

It had only been another few hours or so, but things had changed dramatically. Around an hour after those two interesting people left my dungeon, people began funneling in.

I had to buy more [Great Rabbit]s because of the sudden increase in people. But that increase has yet to stop!

As of now, there are around 113 people in my dungeon. Some are trying to kill the rabbits, others are just talking, and the last group actually brought a fucking picnic basket and is having a group outing!

I have 80 rabbits, and I have 226.10 points as of now. The rabbits have killed some players, and they give two points on death, but they just return for more.

I was coming to the realization that the reward must be greater than the loss when they die. My dungeon must have boosted EXP rates or something for this to be happening.

I don't have enough points to put my plans for the second floor into motion, but what I can do is get those points.

[Edit respawning creature: [Great Rabbit]?]

A smirk instantly appeared on my face. I knew exactly how I was going to get those points.

[Talent: [The Great White Rabbit] has been unlocked.]

[-35 points]

[-25 points]

The cost for unlocking the first talent of the Great Rabbit was 35 points, while I bought five non-respawning [Great White Rabbit]s.

This was all because of their talent...

While the [Great Rabbit] and [Great White Rabbit] are identical in their looks, size, and stats, they have one difference.

The [Great Rabbit] has the talent:

[The Great White Rabbit]

[Rarity: Epic+]

[Description]: When enough rabbits congregate, a heavy snowstorm will begin to form.]

It might not seem like much at first, but when paired with the [Great White Rabbit], it becomes deadly.

The [Great White Rabbit] has the talent:

[The Legend of The Great White Rabbit]

[Rarity: Legendary+]

[Description]: Upon being in an active snowstorm, the non-respawning members will replicate upon eating their entire body weight in food. It will respawn a non-respawning clone that cannot replicate. If the non-replicating clones eat, it will automatically transfer the eaten biomass to the original. Upon the original eating enough, it will grow in size, and the amount to eat to replicate itself will shrink. These non-respawning, self-replicating rabbits have ten grades they can grow to. The snowstorm, once started, can only end when all self-replicating rabbits have died.]

With that done, I stopped what I was doing and went toward the door of my holding floor.

Unlocking the door, I opened it. What greeted me was a room of nothingness. That was because I had spent another 50 points to buy another floor.

I took a few steps into the room, and with every step, the ground morphed into a futuristic design.

Waving my hand, the entire floor was filled. If you entered from the first floor, the first thing to greet you would be a courtyard. It was filled with short green grass with a small amount of trees spread around.

This floor would be linear. It was almost a straight line to the end, where the door to my floor would be.

Once you made your way through the courtyard, there was a building with an entrance wide enough to fit ten people walking side by side.

Once in the building, your large path would be split into three directions: left, right, and middle.

The middle would lead to something I call 'access.' This was a large area that held chairs, terminals, and an office area.

Past this, the middle would split into two paths. The left path: the cafeteria. And the right path: the locker room.

On the walk to the middle path, there were many vents and differing turns if you didn't want to stick to the middle path completely.

The left path held a room filled with servers and cable wiring. This room had a lot of blind spots due to the servers being held side by side in the middle of the room.

There was a small path that allowed you to connect to the middle path if you wanted. There were also many vents in the corners and sides of the room.

If you followed the left path, you would then find yourself walking into the cafeteria, just like if you took the middle path.

The cafeteria held many long cafeteria tables that anyone could sit at to eat their food. On the left part of the room was a large kitchen that had an open counter, allowing anyone to get their food if any food was there.

Past the cafeteria was the bar. A medium-sized bar that had a place where you could get served drinks on the leftmost part of the room. There were only a few seats, and not much of the space was being used, so walking through was easy.

Past the bar was a large room with two separate entrances. The room had a small staircase that needed to be used to get into it.

The inside was a weirdly normal square-like shape, with nothing inside it besides a door in the farthest back of the room. The door was pitch black, along with the wall it was attached to.

While the main colors of everything on floor two were blue, white, and gray, the wall that held the door was pitch black.

There were a large number of vents that connected everywhere, and if you were to crouch as a human, you would be able to fit inside but may have some trouble getting up past the high points the vent had.

However, if you went on the right path, you would first run into the room I call 'Sights.'

The room had little to no value besides benches being laid out next to the large, clean windows that showed the ocean below. If you were lucky, you would see the sunset as well.

Past that, there was a medical bay that had many different small rooms, with the main hallway being extra thin. The rooms held a hospital bed and other equipment.

Further into the right path, you would enter the basketball court. There are two hoops on either side of the large room with a small container with basketballs in the corner of the court.

And once you went past that, you would find yourself at the other entrance of the same room that held the door to my floor.

There was a reason everything connected everywhere, and this was because of the way this floor would work.

Due to the increase in players in only a few hours, I would need to cull those numbers. This floor was supposed to be used as a mosh pit, where once you went too deep, there was no coming back.

Once the main boss of this floor was cleared, I would never use this floor again. That was mainly because of what the boss would be for this floor.

[The Hive]

[Description]: A massive sphere was held off the ground by sturdy brown weblike structures. It is mainly brown in color, with yellow being seen on its sides due to what was inside it. Over a period of time, this hive will spawn eggs; these eggs will be distributed resources and turned into one of five creatures. The Skulk, Gorge, Lerk, Fade, and Onos. Resources will be generated over time, but the hive will get a small amount per kill of other life forms. And over time, the hive will adapt the life forms in order to make them better. The hive has psionic abilities allowing it to see through its spawn and command them mentally.]

[Cost: 422 Points]

I don't have the available points yet; however, I have already put into motion plans that will give me those points. Once the hive is ready and has gotten enough resources, I will break the door, stopping people from going to the next floor.

The second I do so, water from the lake will be drained due to the door turning into a massive hole.

This entire floor was held high up on a cliff, while the rest of the floor was just ocean. If anything, this should be a very good place to put the hive.

(Third POV:)

[June 6th, 23:14:56, 2248]

Inside the dungeon of the first, something odd had begun happening. The rabbits that had rushed the players with reckless abandon had all paused at the same time.

This had been noticed by those fighting the rabbits; however, the rabbits immediately turned and ran away from them.

Anyone seeing the spectacle thought it was just a tad odd. After all, they had only been in the dungeon for a bit, and the records of this creature had yet to be completed.

That would be their first mistake. All of the rabbits alive, all 37, had rushed to each other. They formed a massive mosh pit of fur and teeth.

Their chittering reached a maximum as they all tried to get as close to the center of their blob as possible.

Quickly, the weather began changing. The players began feeling a little cold, only to see snow falling from the sky.

The players who were feeling cold immediately shuttered as a breeze of absolute cold hit them all. Along with the breeze, massive amounts of snowflakes blew past them.

The players who had gear that worked well for cold climates put it on. The ones that didn't were left shivering.

It didn't help that they were now blinded by the heavy snowfall and couldn't see six feet in front of them. It was as if the sun had gone down.

"Yo, Tatsumi, can you see anything?" A black-haired man wearing a large coat and holding a staff spoke to the person next to him.

"Nah, Dredge, I can't see a thing," Tatsumi said as he put on a large brown coat to try and keep himself warm.

"You want to try and see what's going on?"

Tatsumi immediately gave Dredge a bombastic side-eye. "Isn't that how they die in horror movies? Going to check out what's happening?" Tatsumi questioned.

"Well, technically, but you're forgetting one thing, Tatsumi." Dredge grabbed Tatsumi's right shoulder as he spoke.

"Yeah, what's that?"

"We're built differently. We are the exception to that rule, Tatsumi!" Dredge smirked as he began walking forward.

"Shit, that's all you had to say!" Tatsumi smirked as he followed Dredge into the snowy darkness.

They both walked confidently forward. As if the snow meant nothing to them! The two boys—men!—walked confident of their victory.

However, they failed to realize… that they were not the exception.
