"Still..." Zhao Yuhui was not convinced but Mother Zhao stopped her train of thoughts and told her to eat slowly and got up to use the restroom.

While she was walking in the corridor, her eyes fell upon the stain of soup on her coat and wiped it. Just then, she felt an abrupt force on her shoulder and almost stumbled back but was saved by a strong grip on her forearm.

"I am sorry! Are you okay, Mam?"

Mother Zhao looked up after hearing a male voice and found a young man whose face was devoid of any emotions.

There was another man beside him who rolled his eyes at his friend's apology. He pushed him aside and came to stand in front of her. "Oh, great aunt, I am sorry on my friend's part! He sometimes forgets to walk with open eyes so often gets bumped into people. You are not hurt anywhere, are you?"

Mother Zhao smiled at both of them and replied. "I am absolutely fine." Saying this, she walked past them when an idea stroke her. She stopped on her steps and looked back. But the corridor was completely empty now.

"It is! Look, you would have someone to support you. Since I can't stay with you all the time, at least there could be someone who would care for you."

At this, Zhao Yuhui stopped putting more food into her mouth and looked blankly at her. "Mom."

"Yah! Qin Lixin! You should start behaving politely at least with elder people." Yang Feiyu smacked the back of his friend's neck after they sat down.

Liang Guohua who was pouring a drink for himself heard that and lifted his eyebrows to reveal his brown eyes. "What happened?"

"Guess what? He bumped into a middle-aged lady and when it came to apologising, his voice turned stoic."

Qin Lixin heard that and retorted. "It wasn't stoic!"

"Sure, it wasn't." Yang Feiyu sent him a sarcastic smile.

Liang Guohua ignored the childish banter going on and took out his phone after feeling it vibrate by his thigh. His burrows furrowed when he read the message. "Xu Haotian has again sent the address and timings of tomorrow's event in group chat."

Yang Feiyu averted his focus from Qin Lixin and asked. "Hasn't anybody told him that we won't come tomorrow?"

Liang Guohua stared back at him and shook his head. He then pointed his phone at Qin Lixin. "Weren't you supposed to do that?"

Qin Lixin raised his eyebrow at the former and tried to remember. "Me? When that happened?"

Yang Feiyu landed another smack at his head. "Bas****!! You were the one who told us that you would go to meet him today and tell him,"

"Let's hurry back! I want to go under a warm duvet."

They walked to get their car and after being stuck in traffic for two hours, they finally reached the home. Zhao Yuhui was so tired that she hit the bed without changing her clothes.
