The Basketball Match

"I need to go there too, Big Sister. Let's go together, just let me go and grab my bag."

Saying this, the little junior sprinted to the music room living Zhao Yuhui behind. Zhao Yuhui paused and turned to look at the stairs. Hopefully, she won't get to come here again.

Praying this, Zhao Yuhui went to find her junior who beamed at her as soon as she appeared in sight. "Let's go."

On the way back, both were running and didn't talk much. They parted ways outside the court where the little junior went to find her friends.

"Cheng Qi? I am already here." Zhao Yuhui spoke while covering the mic with her hand to block the chattering going on behind her. Now that the students from other university were here as well, the small entrance of the court was jam-packed.

A slight frown shone on her face under the sunlight when she was pushed by someone. Moving away from the crowd to stand under the tree, the muffled voice of Cheng Qi became clearer. "Where are you? I will send someone to fetch you!"

"Ah? I am standing under the tree a bit away from the main entrance."

"Great! Move forward from that tree towards the back area of the court."

Zhao Yuhui looked around herself and went in the left direction. When she was at the backside, she heard Cheng Qi speak. "Did you see the emergency exit? Just wait there."

Zhao Yuhui sighed before putting the phone in her bag. She kicked the little stone which was near her foot and waited.

Within a minute, the sound of a creak was heard, and Xu Dong peeped out from behind the emergency exit.

Xu Dong flashed a toothy smile at her.

Even if Zhao Yuhui was covered from head to toe, he could still recognise her just by her eyes. It was her style to always wear a sports cap. "Hey! Come here fast before someone else see us and start insisting to tag along."

Zhao Yuhui hurried due to his rushed voice. "Can we go through the emergency exit?" She muttered as they walked down the stairs.

"Not usually. But it is always open on this very day."

"Why?"

"It works as the exit for the loser team. It gets a bit hectic after the match ends." snickered Xu Dong.

Xu Dong brought Zhao Yuhui to the waiting room.

Cheng Qi approached her when he saw her coming, "You are here. Thanks for coming."

Zhao Yuhui smiled at him, "Yes but I won't be able to stay for long. I have a schedule in the evening."

"It's already enough that you came for a while. You can go back through the same door you came. I am afraid we won't be able to look after you from here on."

"No worries! Just focus on the game and good luck!"

"Thank you. You can go and take your seat." Cheng Qi pointed at the door which Xu Dong followed to open.

Zhao Yuhui noticed that it was the direct opening to the VIP seats outside. She nodded. "I will get going then. Best of luck again!"

After she went out of the sight, the silence was finally broken. Except for Cheng Qi and Xu Dong, no one had dared to speak since Zhao Yuhui came.

One of the teammates let out the breath he was holding. "Her eyes are so beautiful."

The whole court went frenzied as soon as the game began. Zhao Yuhui was sitting inside an open lounge whose front was facing the court. Funnily enough, it was just the basketball court of the university, yet it had to be so much luxurious.

It felt like a mini lounge of some professional basketball game. From the interior, she was sure it was only for the closest friends of the players since except for her and the extra players of their team, there was no one here.

And for some reason, those players made sure to maintain space with her. They even left the best seat and gave it to her.

After the introductions were over, the referee tossed the ball at the centre of the court between the captains of both the teams. Luckily, for them, Cheng Qi grabbed the ball first and passed it to his teammates much to the dismay of another team.

She had heard that Cheng Qi was a champion in this game, but she hadn't been aware of him being the captain as well. Within five minutes, their team had already shot the ball into the basket.

For the next half an hour, all she heard was the happy cheers from their side and the groans of frustration from the other side where supporters of the other team were sitting.

"I knew it! Everyone had been practising for months, our team should be the winner!"

"Let's hope for the best!"

Zhao Yuhui was so engrossed in the game that she didn't realise when exclaims behind her had stopped suddenly and two figures took the seat beside her.
