Sammy hoped the smell of the food being prepared in the diner wouldn't send her running like a hen on fire to the toilet. Or worse cause her to throw up all over the table and their food.
Lately, strong smells were becoming too much to handle. Besides Nelly, none of her friends knew she was pregnant, and she didn't want them to find out. She wondered how fast a person's belly grew, as she knew when that happen, she would have some explaining to do.
She had tried Leo's phone this morning, but again t had gone to voicemail. Why hadn't he reached out to her since his departure? The silence between them was deafening.
"Earth to Sammy," Nelly said. Sammy blushed realizing her friend had been talking to her all this time. What had she been saying?
"Sorry, what was that?" Sammy asked. Nelly smiled as she looked at her, a mischievous look in her eyes.
"Baby brain so soon?"
