Chapter 19

I woke up and found myself on the hospital bed. The nurse quickly called the doctor after seeing that I have woken up.

The doctor came inside. I sat down and asked the doctor what was wrong with me.

"Doctor, what happened? Please I need a sincere answer from you." I looked at him waiting for an answer.

He signed and finally spoke "I am sorry but your disease has been triggered. You only have six months to live. I have prescribed some medicines that will lessen the pain. Pls take care of yourself." Saying that he left the room.

I smiled. 'Maybe it was for the best. At least I will be joining my dad soon. I wonder what will happen to me until then. This six months. I wonder what will become of me.'

I looked outside the window. It was late. I have to get home quick. I stood up and quickly rushed home.

When I opened the door. My aunt sat down on the couch holding her whip and waited for me to come. She was furious. "Where did you go? Answer me now."

I didn't reply. I just stood there like a dead person. It felt like there was nothing inside of me.

My aunt dragged me and wiped me continuously. I couldn't feel any pain at all. I was used to this already. I couldn't find any place in my body that didn't have scars or bruise on them.

She eventually stopped when she was tired and threw the whip away in frustration.

"You little brat, I see you have grown wings. I know what to do to you but till then you will stay in your room and don't even think of coming out of this house. No food for you. You will only get food when I have figured out what to do with you." Saying that she dragged me to my room with was the basement and threw me there. She locked it with a key and went away."

Amelia check her phone. She had received countless miss calls and messages from Caroline. She really wanted to reply but she was to ashamed. Although she was very happy. Caroline believed her. She even sent many messages to encourage me but I couldn't reply. It was because of my carelessness that Catherine is like this. Now she would not be able to go out freely like she always wanted to.

Amelia slept on the cold and dark room and waited for what was going to happen next.

The next day came and went. Amelia still remained in the room without any food to eat.

Meanwhile, at college, class was finally over. Caroline was about to enter the bathroom when she heard Scarlett's and some other girls voice. She waited and lean closer to listen and started recording everything on her phone.

"I made sure to teach that brat a lesson. She thought she was special. I was just going through some of her old junk and found her diary. That was when I hit the jackpot. I even made a lot of money with the story I sold to the media." laughter followed after she spoke.

Caroline barged in and dragged Scarlett. "What are you doing? Let me go. You are hurting me. Where are you taking me to?" Scarlett shouted but Caroline ignored her and continued to drag her.

Caroline was furious. She had hurt her best friend and her sister. Did she think she would get away with it?

Caroline push Axel's classroom open and threw Scarlett inside. Max saw what happened and looked at Caroline demanding for answers.

"Axel, we have made a huge mistake." Caroline said.

"What do you mean?" asked Axel. Caroline pulled Scarlett's hair. "Tell him everything you just said a while ago. Tell him."

Scarlett screamed in pain. "I-I don't know what you are talking about. I said nothing." Scarlett denied.

Caroline released her hair. "Ok then, if you don't want to talk I will just have to show him myself." Saying that she played the video she recorded and showed it to Axel.

Scarlett knelt down immediately and started to cry and beg for forgiveness. "Please forgive me. I didn't mean to do it. I don't know what came over me. I am sorry. Please forgive me."

Axel couldn't believe what he just saw. He had humiliated Amelia and completely ruined her. He got her scholarship canceled and also got her fired from all her jobs. What has he done?

"Get out before I lose control of myself." Scarlett quickly got up and ran away.

Axel rushed out of the classroom and went to the library. Caroline followed. "Axel" Caroline called out to him but he didn't listen.

He started throwing books and breaking things. After something he called down. "What have I done? I don't think she will be able to forgive me even though I beg her."

Caroline walked over to him. "I am sure she would forgive you. It was just a misunderstanding. Let's go to the Cafe. She might be there."

Caroline had no idea about what Axel had done to Amelia.

Axel looked at Caroline. "You don't know this but I got her fired from all her part time jobs and the reason why she didn't come to school was because I got her scholarship canceled." Axel explained

Caroline could not believe what she heard. "What? You did what? How could you? Do you even know what you have done?" Axel didn't reply.

Caroline tried to get herself together and look for a solution. "Let's forget about that right now. I will try to get in touch with Amelia and explain things to her but till then please don't do anything. I hope she responds to my messages soon." After that they went to the car and drove off.

It was evening already. When Scarlett came in she waited for her mum's arrival. When her mum finally returned she pulled her mum closer.

"Mum, when are they coming to take her. You told me you were going to sell her off today." She said this loud for Amelia to hear.

When Amelia heard it she crawled closer to the door to hear more.

Scarlett's mum hushed her. "shhh, do you want her to hear? Speak softly."

Scarlett rolled her eyes. "Let her hear. It's not as if she is going anywhere."

"Ok but the people who will be coming to take her will be here soon. They even paid us a huge amount of money for that. It's a pity she has to become a sex slave." aunt Lucy laughed after speaking.

Amelia could not believe what she was hearing. They were going to sell her as a sex slave? Even though she was going to die soon she can't let her body be sold.

Amelia thought of what she could do before those people would come to take her away. They would soon be here. She is really weak right now so she can do anything.

Amelia eyes came across the phone Caroline gave her. 'Yes, the phone. Thankfully I didn't let anyone know about it. I can use it to call for help but who can I call. It's only one person number I have and it's Caroline's number."

Amelia managed to crawl to where the phone was. She took the phone and checked the time first. It was already dark.

Amelia failed the number and called Caroline. Thankfully she picked on the first try.

Amelia was very weak to speak and could only say few words. "Carol, HELP…help me… Sell… Slave." Amelia tried to put words together but she was too weak.

"Amelia, are you alright? Pls answer. Where are you?" just then Amelia heard someone opening the door and quickly hid the phone.

"This is the girl. You can take her now." aunt said as one of the men pulled me up and carried me on his shoulder.

I tried to move but I was to weak. "P-Please, let… me… go." I pleaded but the men went out and threw me into the back of a van.

I cried silently. 'Why? Why me? I can endure everything. I can even endure being beaten or insulted but I can't be a sex slave. I know I have little time left but this is not how I wanted my life to end. How will I face dad? Is this how I am being punished for killing dad?'

The men were driving and were already far from aunt Lucy's house. "Hey, do you think that girl would last a week there? She looks so skinny and she's not even that beautiful. It's hard to find girls nowadays, that's the only reason we paid a huge amount of money to get her." the man at the passenger's sit said.

The other man was about to reply when he spotted a man jumped in on the road. "Hey, get out of the way." He shouted but the van was already close to the man.

When the van was about to hit him, he stopped it with just one hand.

Amelia thought they had reached thier destination when the van stopped but not long after, she heard a really loud thud.

The van opened and a man appeared. Her vision was becoming blurry so she couldn't see his face.

The man called out to her. "Amelia, Amelia wake up. Are you alright? Answer me."

She knew that voice. It was Axel's voice. He sounded worried. Was she hearing things?

She felt her mind going numb and soon she blacked out.
