Chapter 131

Moonlight spilled through the kitchen window as Aeris cut the necessary vegetables. Adding them to the soup, she gave it a stir and allowed it to simmer for a few minutes before tasting it.

"Tastes good," Aeris murmured, slowly nodding her head. Lifting the pot from the fire, she set it down.

Just as she finished serving the soup, she filled three bowls and carried them to the dining room to arrange them. Just then, she heard the sound of horses galloping and walked toward the window. Pushing the curtains aside, she looked through to see Naomi and Drusilla, her daughter, walking to the front door.

A smile appeared on her lips as she turned around to welcome them.

"Were you able to deliver the buns?" Aeris asked.

Naomi frowned, holding back tears. "Unfortunately, we met Lycans on our way, and they took everything from us."
