Chapter 128
When Cassius opened his eyes, every bit of humanity left in him had washed away. He had switched it off, letting his vampire instincts take over. As he did, he killed two vampires on his way, draining them of their blood. Aeris didn't even try to stop him; all she could do was shake her head and stare. Everyone handles their grief differently.
He felt nothing after switching his humanity off. He didn't care about anything, only himself. Tonight, he was going to the Council house to kill every one of them. The cold wind brushed against his skin, causing goosebumps to form. He stared at his hands and wondered what would happen if he pulled his heart out. What would happen if he killed himself?
Though he had switched his humanity off, the pain was still there. It was hard to ignore the pain that dug deep into his heart.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I'm sorry for not being able to save you in time."
