Chapter 65

Ariana woke up the next morning. She looked around, her sight a little blurred. Despite the fact that she had a blurred sight, she knew she saw balloons and pictures all over the room. She got off the bed and rushed into the bathroom to wash her face. After washing her face, her sight became normal so she rushed out to the room and saw balloons, ribbons, flowers and her pictures all over.

On one of her pictures, she saw a red rose which meant love. She looked at the curtain and saw that the words' happy birthday Ariana' was boldly inscribed. She smiled, she needed to thank the family. She was about going out when she noticed a letter on the table beside the bed. She went and took the letter to read it.

Ariana smiled after reading the content. She ran to the door in order to find everyone. She opened the door and suddenly there was a blackout. Luckily, it was just 6: 45 am so the sun was already awakening. She found her way to the sitting room and called,

" Casey, Casey, mum, Mariana, Santiago, CA......."

" Surprise!!" Everyone screamed as the lights came back on.

Ariana stared in awe. She couldn't believe that they did everything for her. She looked around and saw that everywhere was beautifully decorated, the happy birthday inscription not left out. She ran to Mrs Lambert and embraced her tightly.

" Thanks mum, thank you" she said and Mrs Lambert patted her head.

She moved to Casey and embraced her in a tighter embrace.

" I love you so much Casey" she said.

" Mmmmm mmmmm" Santiago cleared his throat. " Just so you know, we all played an equal role in this so I don't think you should give all the credit to your bestie" Santiago remarked, a little jealousy obvious.

Ariana smiled, " thank you all. You've really made this day special for me, thanks" she said and they all smiled at her.

" But, I'm confused. When did you have time to prepare all this?" She asked.

" Last night silly" Mariana said.

" Last night? I don't get it. I......." That was when she remembered falling dizzy after having the cookies Mrs Lambert had given to her. " Those cookies" she muttered.

" They were laced with sedatives so you wouldn't wake up amidst preparations" Mrs Lambert said.

" Wow, that's so cool" Ariana said.

" Come on now, go get ready. You have to go to school" Mrs Lambert told them.

" But mum, it's Ariana's birthday. Can't we all stay back?" Mariana whined.

" Stop whining and go get ready. Your allowance Is on the table" Mrs Lambert said and left for the kitchen.

" Come on Casey, let's go" Ariana said and left with Casey.

" What about this one?" Ariana asked, showing Casey a blue gown.

" Nope" Casey stood and moved to her wardrobe. She brought out a package.

" What is that?" Ariana asked, curiously.

" A dress👗, what else?" She said giving the dress to Ariana.

Ariana opened the package and saw a white and black jumpsuit. The white and black were in stripes, making the dress look more beautiful.

" Wow!!" Ariana exclaimed..

" You like it?" Casey asked.

" No. I love it"

" Look, there's something else in the bag" Casey said drawing Ariana's attention to a smaller bag.

Ariana opened it and saw a silver necklace in form of half a heart pendant.

" Wow" she exclaimed. " But why a half heart Casey? Why not a full one" she asked.

" That's because I have the other half" Casey said and brought out the other half of the heart.

" This signifies our friendship. It shows that we'll be together forever, best friends forever, always stick together"

" Best friends forever, we'll always stick together" Ariana repeated and both girls embraced.

" Now let's go" Cassandra said and they left
