THE STORY OF LUNA

After the break everyone felt better, they took their things and set the course to follow. The journey was silent, with the Community achieving its objectives, the walkers had stopped for a moment so they were not in much danger.

"Listen, I feel that someone is following us," Luna mentioned, tightening the straps of her backpack

"I'll go see."

Bewilderment and amazement gripped the three remaining members of the team. The blonde girl named Luna had done something unexpected, she doubled and her double ran back to inspect.

"I can't see anything!" The double shouted in the distance.

It came back and merged with the original. Suddenly she reacted, she had shown one of her powers in front of them without thinking about it, their eyes were fixed on her, she knew it when her face reddened.

"What did you just do?!" Ocean questioned her.

Luna began to hyperventilate until she passed out from fear. She felt how her body was bouncing, she slowly opened her eyes and saw the landscape, Ronda was carrying her on her back, noticing that the downturn was awake so she could continue walking alone.

"Explains Luna," said Ocean with a strong tone of voice.

"Ocean, don't be so harsh, give her time," Zev interfered.

"Agh, don't defend your little girlfriend," the mouth thundered.

Zev didn't want to make any inappropriate comments so he didn't say anything. Luna touched her hands as a sign of nervousness, they decided to stop a bit and then the girl was willing to open up to them.

"I have powers," she blurted out.

"But you're not like us," Ronda said, examining her with her eyes

"Where did you come from?"

"I am from another dimension but I clarify that I am not the traveler," she moved her hands quickly showing her palms, "in my dimension there are also problems, due to an imbalance so they sent me to ask for help...

"And what else?" Ocean asked, annoyed, she didn't want to hear a cheesy story from a cheesy girl like Luna.

"I got here by chance, I found Maeko walking alone while carrying her rabbit, then a woman welcomed us. I had no idea but she took us to The Community, she examined us and days later she discovered our powers…"

Nobody said anything, they were attentive to her words.

"I am the traitor," she confessed, extending her hands so that he could tie her up.

Ocean approached her, imposing her strong presence, took her wrists and forced her to continue speaking. Fearful Luna continued her story.

"Jolene used me as a spy, something like Barret with the commander, I would choose what convinced me, besides being able to duplicate my body I have thermovision," she cleared her throat loudly, "Jolene showed me photographs of Evander, Barret, another boy and of you Ocean. Since your power is fire, your temperature is higher than the rest, that's how I knew your location, I pretended to be a survivor, that's how I got to the bunker."

Ronda and Zev were surprised by what Luna told them.

"Maeko taught me to communicate by telepathy, I sent her information and she passed it on to Jolene, that's how the Community found out about the ground loop, "she paused, "Jolene said that Ocean was the worst of all, that she should always be watching each of their movements, at first my motivation was to learn to fight and create more than one clone to be able to fight against you but that will never happen…"

"Why are you confessing all this?" Ronda asked.

"Because she's weak, I don't think she's lying, she has no reason, she's just a loser who wants forgiveness from the resistance" Ocean hurried to say.

"That 's not why!" she shrieked. "You're right to say that I'm weak, but the fact that you feel so much hate doesn't give you the right to take it out on me."

Ocean's breathing became heavy hearing her say that, the girl had the guts to speak like that to the fearsome black-haired woman.

"The reason why I'm saying this is because being here I fell in love with Zev, I can see that he is good and noble, he changed my way of thinking," she looked sideways at the boy, who was slightly surprised by that confession. "Also I have seen the love that Evander and you have for each other, the person that Jolene described is different from the one I see now, the only thing similar is the bad character you have, in fact I have been able to notice that all the reinforcements have a character of superiority."

She wasn't lying, they were like that, their genetics were pre designed by their creators.

"I don't want anyone's forgiveness, I just want to redeem myself for acting badly, that's why I'm giving myself up to you, I want to help you locate the others when we're outside the Community of the Dawn base," she lowered her head, "I know Zev will never reciprocate my feelings but in my dimension love is the most important thing, so we must rescue Evander so they can stay together."

Ocean was calmer, she recognized the sincerity in Luna's words even though she didn't want to admit it, she complained in silence and Ronda put some handcuffs on the girl's wrists, just to make sure, she looked defeated but deep down she felt calm for taking out what she was hiding.

"Well, since we're confessing, I'm in love with Barret, but everyone already knew that, right?" Ronda said with a mocking tone to ease the tension in the environment.

Zev was very quiet walking behind them, thinking, sinking into his inner voice while Luna could still feel the presence of someone following them.

"I don't want to sound selfish but when we get there we must find Evander first," Ocean said, "it's not my place to say this but the reason he's important is because…"

"I'll be the one who gets there first," interrupted a voice that vibrated with an echo in the air.

"I told you someone was following us!" Luna exclaimed, "we have to run!"

They set off, Ocean stepped back to take Zev's arm, he looked far away and out of place but when she touched him he seemed to come to his senses and began to run alongside, they had to be safe from that mysterious voice.
