First Battle

A 16 year old young man was lying on the floor of a bland room with an uncomfortable looking bed and a toilet in it. This was Kranox, he had wavy blonde hair, blue eyes and was 5'9 with an average build.

He seemed to be uncomfortable and after a while, he woke up confused, "Where am I?"

Kranox stood up and looked around the room and became terrified as he had no clue where he was and did not know how he had gotten there. Alongside the bed and toilet that was in the room, Kranox spotted a strange timer which seemed to be floating and the time was ticking down ominously.

When the timer should have hit 0, a booming voice came from every direction, "Welcome All 8 Billion Earthlings! This Is The Opportunity Of A Life Time For You All As Each And Every One Of You Has Now Gained Otherworldly Powers Which Are Decided By Titles Generated From Your Soul. However, In Return For These Powers You Must Provide Us With Entertainment. What Do You Have To Do To Entertain Us You May Be Asking, Well It's Nothing Too Hard.

You Just Have To Kill Each Other.

You Will Be Partaking In One On One Fights To The Death, And The First One Will Start In Five Minutes. More Information Will Be Given To The Survivors Of The First Round, But As A Little Gift For All Of You, Try Saying Status Out Loud.

A new timer appeared and displayed the five minutes which was seemingly going to lead to a fight to the death against another person. Kranox did not know how to feel as he wanted to survive, but he was just a normal teenager and did not want to kill anyone.

Despite this, he knew that he wanted to stay alive and that it did not matter if he had to do things that he would have seen as crazy if he was in a regular circumstance. He needed to have as much of an advantage as possible, so he checked his status by saying it out loud.

Looking at his status, Kranox did not know if he had a good power of not but he was determined to make it work even if it was bad. It seemed as though he could create 1000 spores with the ability to paralyse someone with his current MP and then it would take ten minutes for him to regain a single MP. He did not want to use all of his MP in the fight coming up incase he had to go straight into another fight.

He did not know if his stats all being 1 was normal but hoped that it was not so low that he would have no chance. The timer was almost at 0 as Kranox had spent quite a lot of time going through his status and then had waited for a short time.

When the timer hit 0, Kranox found himself in a new location in an instant which made it seem like teleportation. The area was an arena around ten times the size of a boxing ring, and on either side of it was Kranox and his opponent.

Above each of their sides were large screens which displayed their Titles. Kranox looked up at his opponent's screen which showed him that the man opposite him had the title of 'Frozen Wind'.

At a closer look of the man who Kranox would be attempting to kill for his own survival, he could see that he was around thirty years old with glasses and looked out of shape. Despite this, the man looked confident in himself which made Kranox think that his skill was more than likely quite powerful.

Although both Kranox and his opponent were looking at one another, neither could move. Not because of their nerves, but because another timer in the sky was counting down from ten.

As the timer hit 0, both of the fighters became able to move and Kranox began to run over to the man as his skill would only be useful five metres around him. The man however, did not move an inch.

Once Kranox got close enough to the man, he felt that the temperature was much colder and he could feel the start of what he assumed was ice covering his skin. Despite this, he continued moving and when he got in range of the man, he used one MP to create one hundred paralysis spores in his right hand.

He did not release them immediately, and waited for the man to open his mouth as it would be the best time to strike. The man looked sorrowful and spoke as Kranox was now close enough, "I'm sorry for this, but I have no choice. I'm sure you understand, we all want to survive."

Kranox replied, "Then I'm sure you'll understand if I do the same."

The man spoke again, "I understand comple-"

While the man was speaking, Lucas opened his hand which was a struggle due to the ice that started to form around it. He controlled the spores and made them enter directly into the man's mouth and the effects were seemingly immediate.

Kranox's opponent was unable to move and his sentence was cut off midway. His ability was also cancelled and Kranox immediately started to feel better without the cold constantly assaulting him.

As the man was completely paralysed, Kranox knew that he had to finish him off to survive. As he had no way of killing the man with his skill, Kranox had to use his bare hands.

He pushed the man to the ground so that he could have the best position to attack him, and began to pummel the man in the face over and over again. He had no way of knowing when the man had died, but he assumed it was at the same time that he was teleported back to the original room.

As soon as he arrived back, he heard the same voice coming from every direction, "Congratulations On Defeating Your Opponent. As Stated Before, You Will Now Be Rewarded With Information. You Will Partake In A Fight To The Death Every Day From Now On. After Every Battle, Your Level Will Increase By 1 Which Will Reward You With One Stat Point (STP), One Skill Point (SP), And One Battle Point (BP).

With Your Stat Points, You Can Increase Any Of Your Stats By 1. You Can Choose To Save Up Your Stat Points And Use Them At A Later Date, But This Will Result In Your Battles Becoming Much More Difficult. Stats May Also Be Increased Through Vigorous Training, But This Takes A Long Time.

With Your Skill Points You Can Increase The Level Of The Skill Gained From Your Title. This Will Strengthen Your Skill And Can Give It New Properties. As Well As This, Once Your Skill Reaches A Certain Level, You May Gain A New Skill Related To Your Title. The Final Thing That Skill Points Can Be Used For Is The Purchasing Of New Skills From The Daily Shop Which Will Be Refreshed After Every Daily Battle.

With Your Battle Points You Can Buy Items From The Daily Shop Which You Can Take Into Battles With You. The More Expensive The Item, The More Powerful The Effects Of It Will Be. Alongside Being Able To Buy Items To Use In Battle, You Can Buy Items To Upgrade Your Room Which Can Be Purchased From The Permanent Shop Which Only Contains Basic Items For Your Room.

Kranox did not waste any time and used his stat point and skill point but did not use his battle point as anything worth only one BP probably was not very strong. After using his stat point and skill point, his status slightly changed.

By levelling up his 'Spore Creation', the number of spores he could make for a single MP was now 10 times higher than it had been. It had also gained the ability to create poison spores which would make killing people easier.

As he had put his stat point into Magic, his MP amount had doubled to 20 and his MP regeneration time had halved and became 1 MP replenished every 5 minutes.

Despite not having any skill points to spend, Kranox decided to look in the daily shop to see what sort of thing there was in it for future reference. He looked through it and saw that there were six rows of five items which ranged in value, with the top three rows being skills and the bottom three being items which could affect the user in different ways. There were skills of varying types with different effects, but none of them were to his liking anyway so he did not miss out on a lot. The items being sold in the daily shop were mostly pills and foods which could increase the effects of training for a certain amount of time, or the more expensive ones could directly increase stats by small amounts.

As he had nothing else to do while waiting, Kranox began to train in using his spores to the best of his ability as he did not seem to get tired. He also did not seem to feel too bad about the fact that he had killed a man. Kranox did not know if that was just his nature, or if something had been done to him to make him able to participate in the death game properly.

He put the thought to the back of his mind and continued training.
