Empyrean Chronicles

The Empyrean Humans. The Paragon Beasts. The Ancient Faes. The Primal Devils. Each were the Embodiment and Personification of the Four Origin Ordinances. Each wielded power beyond the scope of the Heavens. And each, commanded a portion of the only Founding Realm in all Existence. Now then, what happens when these four overpowered Races decide to house their Bloodlines inside one vessel? It was... a resounding failure. Discarded and thrown into a Lower Realm, it would seem as though Osric, the result of a failed experiment, with no memory of anything prior, would be swept under the tides of the Martial Verse, never to be heard again, until... Until he Awakened. *** Cover is not mine. Found it on Google.

Natural Treasure

The crowd couldn't help but wonder what Seina was talking about. Of all the things they had expected she'd say, insinuating the loss of Conrad wasn't a part.

Who didn't know who Conrad was? He was the son of an Elder, the grandson of a Grand Elder and the great-grandson of an Ancestor.

Just by virtue of his descent, he was bound to possess one of the purest Bloodlines among the Fahren Clan members. In addition, he had awaken Talents that were graded at Divine. Perhaps in the Clan, only a handful could match that.

And yet, despite being aware of all of this, Seina had clearly hinted at the loss of Conrad. Was there something they were missing regarding this Osric?

Putting aside his face that was extremely attractive for someone still at the Nascent Realm and his tall height, they didn't find anything unique about him.

They suddenly shook their heads, Seina was really pushing this Osric to his death. Nevertheless, it wasn't in their position to decide. That would be left to the young boy in question.

Conrad, on the other hand, appeared stunned for awhile before he bursted into laughter. He almost choked on his own saliva before he looked towards Seina with a contemptuous gaze.

"I'm quite shocked. To think you would really think I would lose. To him? A leech picked from the streets of the Immortal World?"

The crowd suddenly howled and turned to scan Osric again. If before, there were people who still had doubts in their minds, now, that uncertainty seems to vanish.

If he had been born into an Immortal Clan, perhaps they would still look at him a little favourably. However, the fact that he was picked up the streets of the Immortal World meant he wasn't even up to par in the world he was born, then how could he ever compare to one of the most talented individuals in the Divine World?

Seina's eyes glinted with subtlety, a slight smile playing her lips. She was almost exactly like Osric. She preferred to let action speak than words. Hence, she chuckled before opening her mouth to speak.

"I didn't say you would lose, did I? And besides, that mattered little. What matters currently is the wager that would serve as a token of his victory. In the case he miraculously win that is."

Conrad snorted to this. The truth was, he knew Seina was just provoking him. This wasn't the first time this was happening though, and it obviously wouldn't be the last, it did happen a lot when they all were still Mortals.

However, he knew more than to react vehemently like he always did. This would then give her the opportunity to thrash the living shit out of him. Even now, with the advantage of cultivation, he had no doubt that if they were to fight, he would still be the one to lose.

If the crowd thought he had one of the purest Bloodlines in the Fahren Clan, then they were in for a rude awakening because Seina's was even purer. It could even be said she possessed the purest Bloodline in the whole Clan, even purer than all the Ancestors.

Hence, he didn't want to give her a chance to disrupt this fight. He wanted to humiliate Osric, to show him he was nothing before a genius of the Divine World, to let him know he was unworthy of being graced with the presence of Seina.

'Seina is only worthy of me and me alone. Anyone else is but a frog lusting after a goose.'

It was even good she was present, because this way, he would be able to show her why Osric was and would always be unworthy of her.

He looked towards his finger and removed a ring that rested gently on it. He then raised it high for the whole crowd to see, his voice amping a few notches as a look of pride appeared in his eyes.

"Inside this Spatial Ring lies a Quintessential Twin Pupils, a Divine Grade Natural Treasure of the highest caliber. This is my wager for this little theatric. So what will be yours, Osric?"

Conrad's words had barely landed when the whole crowd began to clamor. In fact, they hadn't listened to the latter parts of his statement.

A Quintessential Twin Pupils?! Who, with the opportunity to sit in here, wasn't aware of such a Treasure?

Treasures came in two types; Synthetic Treasures and Natural Treasures. Synthetic Treasures, just as it name hinted, were Treasures made by the very hands of Blacksmiths, while Natural Treasures however, are Treasures that formed naturally, under the watchful eyes of the Heavens.

While both weren't really dissimilar, except the fact one was made by hand, while the other was made naturally, there was a certain difference that made Natural Treasures' standing above even Synthetic Treasures.

Natural Treasures, even the weakest of them, all boasted of being firmly entrenched in the Divine Grade! Which, In other words meant, even the weakest Natural Treasure in the whole Martial Verse, was of Divine Grade.

And the Quintessential Twin Pupils, was definitely an overlord even among Natural Treasures. In addition, as legends would have it, it was said to have a plethora of heaven-defying abilities.

When it came to its offensive capabilities, the Quintessential Twin Pupils couldn't even compare to Black Grade Treasures. As for its defensive proficiency, it was an all-time low that couldn't compare to the body of even a Nascent Realm cultivator.

However, what it did possessed was just one ability! And that was the ability to peer through everything in existence!

The Quintessential Twin Pupils were said to be the eyes of the Heavens themselves. It allowed one to resonate more with Heavenly Ordinances, and granted the ability to comprehend and grasp their intricacies with more swiftness and fluidity.

In addition, it allowed its bearer to see through the essence and secrets of all things, making it so that even the most complex of Formations would appear as nothing more than equations meant for toddlers. Be it living or nonliving, all were as naked as a jaybird before the bearer of the Quintessential Twin Pupils!

Osric was suddenly stumped. What could he possibly wager against that? He didn't even have a Divine Grade Synthetic Treasure he could call his own, let alone a Natural Treasure that was of a higher caliber.

He suddenly looked towards Seina with a frown, almost berating her for putting him in such a predicament. Where was he supposed to get a wager worthy enough to compete with the Quintessential Twin Pupils?

However, seeing the pronounced smile curled at her lips made him shocked. What was it with that smile? It was almost akin to a predator who watched its prey walk into its trap easily.

"The Quintessential Twin Pupils is indeed a good wager. In fact, I would only be disappointed if you wagered anything less. However, as you all know the greatest and mightiest weapons of the Heavens is lightning and fire, on behalf of Osric, I will put forth the Tribulation Lightning and Tribulation Flame!"

A stifling silence descended.
