Emperor of Anime

With the tragic passing of his father, a young man by the name of Kira Rowe visits Japan, the place which his father loved with all his heart to pay final respect to his old man. But without him planning this he became a CEO of an almost rundown Animation studio, the last thing he got from his father. Follow the adventure of the CEO of a small Animation Studio who tries to deal with his crazy colleagues, financial problems, and being a foreigner CEO in Japan, all with one goal: to create the best anime ever. ... I will try to be as realistic as possible with this story, especially when it comes to the whole process of making an anime but of course, for the fun of the story and some other stuff, it won't be 100% realistic... ... My first novel is here, to be honest, it is surreal seeing a web novel of my own on this site. What can you expect? I am not sure, as I am new to this I decided to go with a slice-of-life story that contains some comedy and is mostly about making anime and weird characters. When it comes to grammar, everything should be fine on that front, English isn't my first language but I tried to fix mistakes while writing. Of course, if you notice any mistakes, please tell me. ... If you want to read more than 20 chapters upfront check out My Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/StoryWriter946

Chapter 43 – The Most Super Duper Important Discussion

In the meeting room of the Nexus Animation, an oppressive silence filled the room, in which only the animators were sitting. The situation looked tense, with everyone glancing at each other, waiting for the person who is going to make the first move.

And in that kind of situation, you can always count on Shiba Ryo to do the bidding.

"So…"

The red-haired man started.

"Did you all also like 'Boku no Pico'?"

""What?"

"You can't be serious Shiba…"

One would say that this man is only a comedy character but the more keen person would say that Shiba Ryo always knows how to break this kind of tense silence, making every person here more relaxed, though he could have mentioned a better "that kind of show".

Like that, the meeting room became louder, as it should be

Today the animators used their time before the start of the long period of working to get to know the two new members of their animator team. So, they pulled to the room the unwilling Katsumi Hideki and nervous Youta Katsurou.

You may wonder, how are they going to get to know each other and what will they be talking about. A simple question requires a simple answer, they are animators and weebs at that, of course, the talking point is going to be anime.

Youta, the nervous one managed to gather his courage and looked at Nikola who with anticipation waited for the start of this anime discussion. Nikola with his instincts sensed the stare and turned his head towards Youta and lifted his brow, seemingly saying – "What's up?"

Youta gulped and asked his question, "So, Špubić-Zbrinski-san."

In his nervousness and unfamiliarity with European names, he managed to completely butcher almost every letter, making Nikola and the rest laugh.

"Just call me Nikola or Chad, that's what everyone calls me here…"

"Then Nikola-san, I am not that familiar with your country, Croatia, what anime do they air there?"

Quite a good question, which Nikola started answering almost immediately.

"Well, currently they don't air much anime, but when I was a kid 'Pokemon', and 'Digimon' were really popular, there was also 'Yu-Gi-Oh'…"

When he started enumerating, the other newbie, Katsumi Hideki in shock interrupted him, and with that, surprised everyone here, even the sleeping man Noya Katsu, as Katsumi looked like he didn't care about anything.

"What about the king of the anime, 'One Piece'?"

For that question, Nikola had to think a bit longer…

"I don't think One Piece was ever aired back home…"

That question didn't satisfy Katsumi, it rather made him angry.

"Wat, what kind of shit taste your TV houses have, to not show the best anime ever."

Youta jumped in the middle of the conversation and had to with happiness disagree with Katsumi.

"'One Piece' is good, but 'Dragon Ball' is something else, to me the best ever."

Hearing that, Nikola was the one who surprisingly said something before the red-hot Katsumi who looked like he was prepared to throw hands.

"Oh actually, Dragon Ball Z was aired in Croatia, that anime got me into this world, good days."

"Heh, Nikola-san, you indeed have good taste, I need to visit Croatia, a country of good taste."

Youta's words made Katsumi Hideki even angrier and for the first time after they got to know him he showed them something more than his usual poker face, it seems that anime to that guy is the switch.

Noya Katsu who was sleeping, woke up all of a sudden and interestingly took the side of Katsumi.

"Your bad takes woke me up, Dragon Ball is a legendary show, but One Piece is truly the anime that can be called "something else", nobody is ever going to create not just anime, but any kind of story like that."

Big words and a long sentence from the usual three-word man.

Every anime fan had that kind of conversation with their friend or multiple friends, about which anime is the GOAT, what character is the best, and who is the best villain and in that way, the conversation in the meeting room lasted for another hour, with those three leading the conversation.

Then Nikola noticed that Ryo didn't participate much, the man who was talking even in his sleep actually didn't say anything… The Croatian sensed that something was wrong and so he asked him.

"Hey Shiba, so what is your opinion?"

Shiba Ryo with his head down answered him while whispering.

"Those all are good, bu…, but, I still think 'To Love-Ru' is the best."

There is no need to say how the rest of the animators reacted to that, it crashed the whole discussion and another one started, this time about bad taste and Ecchi anime, but that is the conversation for another time.
