Aselia's POV
I paused for a second and then I walked over to him and sat down beside him. There was a strange chill in the air and I couldn't help but shiver a bit and rubbed my arms.
Noticing my shivers he picked up the blanket and draped it around me. Making me look like someone who had flu and needed to be taken care of. But at least I was warm now.
"Thank you,"
"No problem, I called you here because I want to have a fresh start with you. I don't want you to have any ill feelings or malice in your heart for me. So can we start over?" He looked sideways at me with hopeful eyes. I wasn't sure what his endgame was but I knew I needed him the most for my mission.
"Yes," I replied calmly.
"In that case, I am Xiran. Nice to meet you." He extended his hand toward me and I shook it without further ado. His hand was so warm against my cold one. Although I was sitting with a fucking blanket around me. My body was cold like my heart.
"I am Aselia, your hands are really warm. What's the secret?" He laughed at my introduction, his whole face lit up.
"I guess my hotness," he winked and I rolled my eyes at him and shook my head making him laugh even harder.
"I asked you for a secret." I reminded him of our conversation in the lift.
"Ahh, yes a secret. Let's see, hmm." He placed both his hands on the divan and lifted his face toward the moon. Moonlight illuminated his sharp features making him look even more handsome. I took a deep breath trying to keep myself calm.
"So I have been with countless women over the years and I have respected all of them. But I have never fallen in love with any of them. Maybe something is lacking inside me or it's because of what I am. Still, I do wish to find love someday." He smiled at his words but it was filled with sadness as he kept staring at the moon.
"Maybe if you will see them more than the objects of your desires and cravings, you might find love." I shrugged.
"Or maybe I haven't found the right one yet." He shifted his gaze toward me.
"Keep looking buddy, maybe you will find her one of these days. But, you might have to change this lifestyle of yours. No girl will want someone like you." I teased.
"What? I thought all the girls wanted me." He pouted at me.
"Sorry to pop your bubble but no one wants someone who keeps several girls under him. All those girls are not your girlfriends, they are just contracted girls, hired to fulfil your yearnings."
"But I have needs." His face became even sadder.
"Make up your mind buddy, love requires sacrifices. Choose this life and keep living like this or make some changes and look for your true love. The choice is yours."
"Aww, look at you giving me love advice. I knew under all that ice there is so much wisdom hidden." He was teasing me, that irresistible smile of his was back.
"Whatever," I squinted my eyes at him and began to look at the moon. It shone like a lonely diamond in the dark expanse of the sky, sharing its gleams with all of us.
"Have you ever fallen in love, Aselia? Be truthful like I was." He inquired curiously.
I thought for a second before answering him: "Umm, no."
"Why not? What's your excuse? I highly doubt you have the same lifestyle as mine."
"There is more to life than finding true love. Even if something like this actually exists, I highly doubt everyone finds it."
"What's more important than love? And one should just give up like that?" There was so much curiosity in his voice. I wanted to say revenge but I refrained.
"Freedom to do whatever one wants, like you are doing. You love your freedom, don't you? If you will have a girlfriend or wife. She won't let you do all this. Giving up depends solely on your choices." I peeked up at him and our eyes met.
"Yeah, I do love my freedom. But I want to taste love too." He was adamant in his stance.
"In that case, good luck, may the cupid finds you soon." I winked at him and he smiled. We sat there in silence for a while. I observed my surroundings trying to figure out if there was an escape route on the roof when the time came. All the buildings around it seemed to be pretty low so I couldn't jump from there, it would be suicide. I would need a rope.
Suddenly the wind picked up, grazing his hair as it ruffled and touched my face. They smelled like mint and citrus, the smell and feel intoxicated me. He reached out with his right hand and brushed them aside from my face.
"Sorry, seems like my hair wanted to kiss your face." His remark made me blush, I wasn't expecting that. I tried not to steal a glimpse but failed. His eyes were waiting with luscious greed which multiplied when mine met his. I seemed to have fallen into a trance again, I couldn't peel my eyes off his gorgeous face which seemed to have bewitched me for I couldn't move, I couldn't blink all I could see and feel was him.
Unknowingly and involuntarily I moved closer to him, baring my neck.
"Drink," I spoke dreamily and as if he was waiting for the invitation. He softly slipped his right hand into my hair while his left hand caressed my waist pulling me closer in one swift movement. I closed my eyes as he opened his mouth, his canines pricked my skin as I felt his lips on my neck, sending shivers down my spine. My whole body seemed to have been set on fire, by heat radiating from his chest, the sensation was inexplicable as I shuddered in his arms, trying to stay in my senses but failing so miserably.
His touches were so gentle, so soft, so exquisite, that I didn't want to pull away from him. But he stopped and pulled his canines out and just pulled me closer hugging me.
No one had ever held me like that, or perhaps I had never let anyone. So, this is what it felt like to be embraced by a man, as he kept hugging me. Caressing my hair with his fingers, burying my face in his chest as his warmth and tenderness, enveloped me and made me glow and blush. I didn't want this to end.
