"Did he do anything to you?" He suddenly reverted to that scared little boy look.
Avery Miller smiled and shook her head at him. What could he possibly do to her? Whatever was going to happen had already happened. What more could there be?
"That's good," he sighed in relief, finally settling his nerves.
Avery found herself observing his profile; his skin was fair, with sharp, defined features, a sculpted nose, and ink-like eyes.
She thought to herself that in a few years, he could rival Ethan Montgomery in looks.
"What's up?" He caught her gaze and turned to ask.
Embarrassed, Avery quickly looked away, shaking her head to indicate it was nothing.
Yet, Elijah seemed inexplicably happy, his smile not fading.
"I was really afraid you wouldn't come," he confessed out of the blue.
