Addae

The sun's rays woke her up, it was a hot morning, and the songs of the birds on the beach came through the window. Her thoughts for a moment remained in the memories of the beach, and in the diffuse memories of her dreams still present in her mind.

She stood up slowly, trying not to look at any mirrors, fearing that she would see in them the same cold eyes from the night before. She changed into the first thing she could find and left her room, leaving the faces of her reflections behind her.

She walked quickly, going down stairs and crossing little-known passageways that would take her to one of her favorite places, she felt like she hadn't been there in years, even if it had only been weeks.
