19. One Punch

" Sorry lad, but I would have to politely decline" said Ast without any emotion. " Oh I didn't knew the Blair's were such cowards" said Gerald trying to provoke Ast.

" Does this fellow have some mental issue or what, he is like a pest, so hard to get off. Looks like he is the real retard" said Anya mockingly, everyone present were shocked and many started giggling at her words. Gerald had completely lost in the battle of words here.

Seeing everyone laughing at him Gerald completely lost his cool and suddenly took out a knife out of his inner pocket and slashed towards Anya shouting " you bitch". Before he could even touch her Ast quickly punched him in his abdomen.

"Ahhhhhhhhh" Gerald was pushed back with force and his legs gave out he started vomiting in the hall itself. " Who dares to hurt my nephew.." a loud sound came from the front and the temperature in the hall started to rise. A middle aged man came out of the crowd and unsheathed his sword.

" Are you sure you want to do that. First your nephew took out a knife and now you unsheathed a sword you should know the meaning of your actions" said Ast calmly. Although he looked calm but he knew he was no match of an elementalist so he had to use his family name.

" Do you really think the Blairs will go to war with Klaus for you.. They might even thank me for cleaning up after them hehe" he said mockingly as he was aware of Ast's status in the Blair family.

" That might have been true before but don't you think things have changed now.. Well i just knocked him out with one punch didn't I" Ast said calmly as if trying to determine if he would need to use his last resort.

In a sense Ast's analysis was true his low status was due to people thinking of him as a retard in the family but today's event provide enough evidence in favour of his physical and mental facility.

"Hmmph.. This isn't over" these were the last words the middle aged man spoke and exited with Gerald. This incident started and ended very quickly. " Anya we should also leave otherwise we would encounter discomfort on the way back". Anya understood the underlying meaning and both of them also left the party.
