10. Affinity

In the advent of evening a boy and a girl were sneaking in the blair's mansion towards the library. This world being reliant on magic did not develop much technologically, Ast thought of it as an advantage as he had access to a lot of valuable information, but he had also come to the realisation that the sciences of earth was not completely applicable here.

The library had a blood pact system, it was so that anyone with blair's bloodline had complete access but others entry was regulated. So Anya and Ast knew it wasn't hard to enter and use the library they just wanted to be discreet.

There was a huge stone set in the middle of the first floor it was all transparent and beautiful to look at. "Go on then, keep your hand on the surface and try to have deep breaths... This is what I remember." told Anya to Ast. " hmm" he nodded and placed his hand on the stone, he noticed some colours appearing inside the stone, half of the stone filled up with bright light and in the other half was a mixture of fire, water and wind. Wind being in the minority and water a bit more than fire.

"Wow Ast you have all the elements, and your best one is the rare element of light how lucky." exclaimed Anya. Ast found that the world didn't knew about the other fundamental element of space which old man told him about, there was no mention of it anywhere. Either the old man made a mistake or the space element is a bit special that is what he concluded. Ast knew about his affity with light element but was a bit suprised by the other elements. ' So the smart thing would be to create a version of light element that suits me the most and if as the old man said i get a chance to fuse a second element with my soul i can create a combination of some sort but that will come later, i have to focus on my strengths for the time being' thought Ast to himself.

Ast had studied about the light element, and from all the books he had read, there were several ways in which light element has been used in in the past. The popular way was to treat light element as an element of healing (healing was also associated with water element but it was fundamentally different). Light was an element associated with holiness able to cleanse and purify, some academies later found out its purpose in adding speed and some sort of phasing but all that was still experimental stuff and only hypothetical at this point or so it was in the literature (might be hidden from public eyes).

For Ast this was a problem, he was fine with light being able to heal ( although he was quite surprised by this finding) he wanted to assure his safety in this power based world, so he had a long way ahead of him in this regard as he wanted to experiment and form a theory on how to best adapt this element to suit him. He was also studying the water element so as to help and secure Anya's future. Due to these reasons all his time was either spent with Anya or in the library, a 10 floor library. From this it was also evident on how keen and powerful was the blair family whose foundations were deep and history quite prominent.
