Airport

"Let me tell you about the most exciting part of a lightning strike."

She spoke to the man in front of her. He was not the tallest, in fact, she was towering over him. It would've been funny if it weren't for the gun he was pointing at her.

And she'd very much like to beat him to a pulp if it weren't for the large amount of security personnel holding her down in his fancy old Italian style office inside a hangar on a deserted airport.

The burly guard plowed his elbow into her shoulderblade, forcing her down on her knees.

"As I was saying..." she continues.

"The most exciting part is when."

"Where is Lopez?" He interrupts.

"Let me finish." she insists.

"You killed him...yeah, you really did." His face was cold and expressionless with a hint of passion.

"You have 10 seconds to answer before I send you over to our lab for dissection, maybe even have a fun little torture session before that. This is not a game, Katherine Lee. I have much to learn about you. And lots of money at stake."

A Cold breeze washes over everyone in the room.

Katherine coughs violently, drooling blood on his dusty arabian carpet. The furry threads at the carpets ends stood erect as she observed them from the corner of her eye. Her broken ribs were nailing at her internals.

"There is a potential difference between us." She uttered in pain.

A wretched smile grew on his face. And he looked around at his two guards

"This is a perfect moment isn't it brothers? Talking to a dumb bitch is what life is all about." He chuckles.

Then leans in, knocking the barrel of his gun on her forehead.

"I wonder what goes on, in here"

He leans back and orders the third guard.

"Let's go, take her to the basement."

"Can I have some water?"

He looks at his guard and laughs then looks down at her.

"N-O."

And gestures towards a trapdoor in the corner.

"What does lightning d-do before it s-strikes?." She says with a hoarse voice. And stares up at him.

His face tightens up, he stands back and releases the safety on his gun.

"I dare you bitch. We're grounded, worst case scenario i get a little shock. You get a bullet where it belongs, kapish?."

A flash of lightning arcs from her forehead and zaps his gun. He jumps and drops it.

She bursts into laughter, stopped when a broken rib poked her somewhere funny.

"You little shit!." His face scrunched up, picking up the gun and kicking her in the face.

She coughed up even more blood.

The guard dug his elbow further in.

The sound of a plane landing closed in.

"I'm dealing with you later. Get her down boys."

It was a large gray cargoplane, the back of it open. And men were unloading large crates with bags wrapped in plastic from it with forklifts. Some of them standing around holding cheap automatic weapons and absentmindedly squinting at the immediate environment.

Katherine was dragged through a staircase with dim yellow flickery lights along the stained walls into a room that smelled oddly metallic.

They tied her up with ropes.

Her hands behind her back, with a rope that connected to her tied feet.

The latter guard took the liberty to remove his sock off and put it in her mouth, then he turned the lights off and left.
