The Green-Eyed Shadow

"No, NO, NO! STOP RIGHT NOW!! I WILL KILL YOU! I WILL KILLLL YOUUYYY!" Joel screamed hysterically as he watched a strange being strangle his little sister. It had already killed his parents and made him watch. He struggled against chains that seemed to emerge from the ground, breaking bones in his hand in a futile attempt to break free. The chains only tightened, crushing his hope of saving his family.

His little sister fell lifelessly to the ground. Instead of despair, an overwhelming desire to dismantle the strange creature flooded Joel. He howled and screamed until his throat could only produce harsh sounds. The creature, a black, human-shaped cloud with dark green eyes, turned its gaze towards him.

Joel knew what this being was—it was an Eclipsed Ego, a person who had failed to dominate their corrupted ego and was overtaken by it. But he didn't care; he stared at it with murder in his eyes. The being paused and turned its head towards the window before it began to dissipate.

"Where are you going?! Come back here! Give them back to me!!! Give them back!" Joel shouted, his voice cracking with anguish as the Eclipsed Ego dispersed. Exhausted and consumed by grief, Joel's vision faded as he collapsed, unconscious.
