EFFORIA WORLD AT WAR

He hasn't had the best life, in fact, some would argue that his life couldn't have been worse, but there's still hope, even for a nihilist. As when an expedition to colonize the moon quickly turns into a disaster, he is swallowed whole by an anomaly and spat out somewhere completely different. Here one can conjure flames with words and summon thunderclouds with a shout, but it's not all fantasia and ecstasy. The world seemed peaceful enough, but as he learns more and more. He realizes everything he sees is a facade, and what's truly underneath is a civilization built on blood and war. In fact, the whole world is in a state of war. Then to top it all off, solidifying that he has truly jumped out of the frying pan and into the furnace, Ragnarök is fast approaching, and there's no certainty that he'll survive, that anyone will survive.

A Target

I wrapped a towel around my waist and fastened it, putting on my mask I opened the door. It was Daniel.

"You need to lose some weight." He said almost cringing.

"Why are you here?" I asked annoyed.

"Well, I just wanted to thank you for saving Abigale, I couldn't and no one else would... obviously... but you put a target on your back to save her, so thank you." He smiled but this time it wasn't creepy.

"If it was the princess would you have saved her?" I was once again clueless.

"Of course! Do you even know how good that would be for me. Anyone would have jumped at the opportunity." He seemed excited.

"But not Abigale?" It didn't make sense.

"You'll understand soon enough, the consequences won't be instant... and that's all I have time for, bye." He walked away not even waving.

I was once again reminded of my ignorance, I would have to find out on my own, the hard way. I didn't focus on the situation though, I didn't want to remember the bloody image that was fresh in my mind.
