Improvement and new plans

"Come on Snow, jump", Chris encouraged his pet to jump the hurdle.

Chris woke up early in the morning and decided to start Snow's training. In less than a month there would be an exam that would decide whether he could enter the best beast tamer academy or not.

So he had to give his all but the problem was his lazy bum pet, which was sleeping but something surprised Chris that morning.

He checked Snow's status out of curiosity. No, it was not curiosity but he felt something in his soul, that made him check the status.

His pet has reached level 1 without doing anything. Chris didn't feed Snow any special foods.

A pet beast can increase either by eating or through combat.

Eating doesn't mean it can improve by eating anything. Every beast has a special food and those foods would help them improve. Also, there are many other treasures that can be used to improve the pets.

Of course, these treasures aren't easy to come by but they can improve the beast's strength by a lot more than what the regular consumption of those special food prepared for the pets. This is what makes them rare as everyone wants them. There is no market for those treasures unless the seller is an idiot or in dire need of something else.

With the financial status of Chris's family, there is no way that he can afford such resources. He can't even facilitate special foods that are prescribed for a Frost Fox. There is no way that he can acquire those rare treasures unless he stumbles upon them by chance.

For that one needs to have a lot of luck and Chris doesn't believe that he was not that lucky. Whatever luck he may had, most probably dried out with his talents.

So he is not that wishful about it.

While checking and contemplating about Snow's improvement, Chris had a vague feeling that his body was a bit different today. At first, he contributed that to Snow's improvement but as he continued thinking, he felt that there was something else.

Curious, he took a look at his status too.

He took was improved without doing anything. He was a beast tamer for only a single day but he already reached level 1 of Iron rank.

This is due to Snow sharing her improvement with Chris.

Though both raised by a single level in a day, as the levels increase and as the ranks increase it would not be so easy to improve.

Moreover, the amount of energy sharing would be reduced between the beast and the tamer as time goes on. So the further one rises, the lesser the energy the master would get from the pet beast.

Anyway, the level-up Chris got is more than welcome as that lazy bum did nothing but both of us increased by a level. Chris did nothing special. He didn't even feed the specific food prescribed for the Frost Fox but still both increased by a level.

Seeing this, Chris was more than happy.

Of course with this, he has to change his plans. He can't take it slow.

Snow is different and special. Troubles would always find a way to insert in the life of someone who is considered different or special.

As its master, any trouble that Snow faces, Chris would face them too. So he needed to increase both their strength as soon as possible.

As his family was considered only a moderate family, his original plan was to grow slowly and steadily.

Chris knew with his own talents, that may not be possible. He too was a special one as Snow. So it doubles the trouble he would face soon.

There is no way to avoid the troubles except to face them. So he decided to level up as fast as possible before those future troubles start to knock on his door.

Chris needs to reach the Bronze Rank as soon as possible. This is because he would be just a dud if anyone attacked him.

Every Beast Tamer would get a skill from their beast, but what he got was the talent turned into a skill. he never used it but he was sure that it won't help him in a fight. It may even make him as lazy as Snow and the reason why he was reluctant to check what it does.

He has two talents and one of them is Beast Fusion and the only thing that can actively help him if such a situation occurs.

He needs to contract another beast if he wants to have some attack power instead of directly depending on the pet beast itself. In order to do that he needs to improve his soul or reach the next rank.

It would cost him a lot and money is something he lacks a lot. He decided to ask his family for some to get the special food for Snow, at least until he reached the Bronze Rank.

After deciding that he would change Snow's food regimen and possibly the training routine of Snow, he continued to train Snow for the rest of the day.

Of course, he is not an idiot to put too much stress on a newborn beast. He made sure it ate enough food, drank enough fluids and rested properly between the training sessions.

Since it was its first training session, he didn't make Snow do any strenuous exercises. There is still time to make it strong before the examinations in a month.

Chris too worked his ass off. He has to improve his meditation in order to be capable of binding with newer beasts. If he can't do that, he will forever be stuck with limited beasts in his arsenal.
