Yinlin enjoys using the internet and, in particular, video chats. One day, while home alone, she encountered an unfamiliar female online friend who had video capabilities. Curious to see who the person was, Yinlin clicked on the video option. She clicked several times, but her attempts were repeatedly rejected by the other user. Yinlin continued clicking playfully, despite the refusals.
The stranger messaged her: "Won't you regret it after seeing?" Yinlin responded with a message: "I won't regret it." The video call finally connected, and Yinlin saw a girl with a heavy fringe, heavy makeup, and a face painted to resemble a corpse with vibrant red lipstick. Yinlin felt a bit scared and considered ending the video call.
The girl messaged, "It's too late now." Suddenly, the video screen went completely dark, sending shivers down Yinlin's spine. She found a photo on her computer desktop and opened it, only to scream in terror—it was the same girl she had just video-called.
Panicking, Yinlin hastily moved the photo to the recycle bin and cleared it. She searched her home thoroughly but couldn't find any trace of the girl. However, she couldn't shake the feeling that the girl might reappear from somewhere. Yinlin searched every corner, desperately wondering where the girl who looked like a corpse might be hiding.
Just then, there was a knock at the door. It was Yinlin's father returning home. Startled, Yinlin opened the door, and her father, looking apologetic, said, "Oh, I'm sorry, miss, I walked into the wrong room."
