They were all busy looking through the people that they thought would take advantage of this opportunity. Vindictus was also thinking about it and realized that with the limited time remaining he wouldn't be able to get a lot of groups through the dungeon since it was such a long time to clear. He was wondering how to do things when he made up his mind.
"Okay listen. I just realized that we are not going to have a lot of time tomorrow since the update starts tomorrow night. So I am going to craft stuff tonight but go ahead and send me a list of the people. I will do a normal run with five groups to see how they do and then depending on how many people are actually there I will bust up the groups and go through the hard. Then at two tomorrow afternoon you four will meet me at the dungeon and we will run the hell mode twice. With you guys going out and practicing with some wolves it should be enough to push you to level ten. Or close enough for my purpose."
"What is your purpose for pushing us to level ten?" Wall Flower was curious.
"Well once the update goes through there are going to be a few more dungeons in this area. Well I should warn you guys that this village is going to become a town and it will be close to ten times this size when you log back in. But never mind that, just be prepared for it. While the others are doing what it takes to get the funds for a guild the five of us with the best ones from the other runs will take on the ten man dungeon that opens up. Then using the guild name and taking all the credit for the first clear."
Brick smiled. "So, that will put your guild a step up at all times and leave others fighting for second place."
"Not to that extent but it will make it so that the guilds that are just starting out will have to put more thought into which city that are going to try and develop in. If we can scare off a few small guilds it would be worth it in the long run. The more resources we can covet in this area over the next month the better. Plus I have another huge advantage that I will be taking advantage of after the update. You heard all those announcements, about reputation, well I can use that to become a noble and get extra perks to include better land to build on."
"Damn you came into this thing with your eyes on the prize. I think that with your vision you will quickly be a name that everyone knows and wants to work for. A guild with a first clear on a ten man and a guild hall while others are still fighting for a guild hall that will be enough to pull some elites to you quickly."
"I think so to Frigid, but that is also the problem. A lot of elite players will charge an arm and a leg for their services. I like that it gives us immediate results but with our name out early we have time to pick and choose who we want in the guild so that we can develop them into a future core and raid team. That is one of the reasons that I want to do hell mode with you guys again. Because if you get another big DPS like Knocking Heads to replace me you can run it without me. Or if I get you get in a team that is close to this one but you are the leader each of you can take a hard mode without issue and depending on the skills of the team even a hell mode."
Wall Flower looked shocked at those words. "I don't think that I could lead a team. That would be a lot of pressure."
"And if that is the case I would never make you but I think that if you tried it once you would find that you really enjoyed the position. Given the way that you play and your timing and vision you could easily control a battlefield. But we will worry about that in the future."
Brick stood up and stretched out. "I have messaged all of my old colleagues and I am waiting to hear back from them. I will send you a list as soon as I get a response. So, you guys want to head to the bank and then to the north to harvest wolves?"
The other three got up after sending their last message. "Oh, I have another guy that I would like to send with you if you would have them tag along. He is one that I am taking tomorrow and I want to see how you guys get along. He is an elf assassin so his damage should be able to replace mine."
"Of course. Send him to the gate and we will meet him there."
"I will message him and let you know."
'Take what are you currently doing?'
'Fighting a wolf at a time since the old guild is upset with me about, well everything.'
'Head to the gate and look for a group of four with a guardian named Brick. Tag along with them and get to know them a little.'
'Same four you got the first clear with? BTW congrats.'
'Thanks and yeah them. I am doing some lifestyle stuff and they need extra DPS.'
'I will meet them there.'
'Brick, the elf will meet you at the gate.'
'Got it.'
Vindictus headed towards the alchemy shop to start making a lot of the potions that he would be using in the future. As he was getting closer he saw God of the Forge walking with a woman. "GF it is great to see you. They been back yet."
To his surprise GF put his fist out for a bump which Vindictus quickly bumped. "Hi Vindictus, no they have not come back."
"That is good. Listen like I said if they give you trouble message me. I killed a bunch of them earlier so it is not like I can make them any madder."
GF gave off a laugh that it was hard not to laugh along with him. "I made some cool stuff with the stuff that you gave me."
"Nothing less than expected from the God of the Forge. Hey I fought a pretty tough monster and he dropped two of the same formula so how about I trade you something you made for it." He saw the woman raise an eyebrow at him.
GF started to look a little sad. "I already sold everything."
"Really that is too bad. Well since you sold everything did you make a silver yet?"
"I made a lot more than a silver, I made…."
"Whoa, GF don't tell me that. Someone might hear you and try to pick a fight to take it from you or I could be a bad person that is trying to rip you off. I am not but that does not mean that other people would not do that. But since you said that you had a silver how about we trade the formula for a silver?"
GF turned to the woman beside him. "Mom, I mean Flame Goddess. Is that a fair trade?"
"Thank you for asking. GF if Vindictus offers you a trade then I am sure that it is a good trade. You can make it."
GF quickly accepted the offer that Vindictus gave him. "This is…"
"Wait don't yell it out. Next time I think I have something you will like we will go eat and talk about it. So, what are you going to do if those guys come back?"
"Call my friend Vindictus."
"Okay. You go and have fun. If you need something for the formula let me know and I will try to find it for you."
"Okay. I am going to the forge."
"You go ahead GF. I am going to talk to your friend."
GF ran into the forge with a smile on his face. "Ma'am, I assure you that I am not after anything."
"I was wondering if you were at first. You know my husband, Take."
"Oh, so I do. I did not realize that but based on the quality of the work I should not be surprised he had a name like that."
"Thank you. You have been kinder to him than most of our family. This game was a huge commitment for us. I was a business manager and now I am playing a game. Hoping that my husband can make enough gold to keep us afloat after my severance is up. I am sorry about that. I am just a little freaked out and talking out of line. But I would do anything for him."
"You were a manager? How would you like to be again?"
"What?"
"Well a guild is just like a company and I have no management experience. I would hire you to manage the day to day activities of the guild so that I can lead raiding parties. I will pay you eight, a month and I will pay your son five a month. I am not sure about your husband yet but he should be close to the same as your son."
"Please don't take this the wrong way but with his medical stuff less that two thousand a month is not enough. I am sorry."
"Oh you thought I meant hundred. No eight thousand, with the possibility of bonuses when you hit certain milestones in the guild."
"Oh, oh I mean wow. I am sorry about that this is my first real game."
"No it happens all the time. I should have been clear. So that is a yes?"
"My son and I will both come to work with you and sign the contract. Although I have to sign for him."
"Legally you can sign but you should let him sign one to feel like he made the decision."
"Do you have a relative on the spectrum?"
"Yeah a cousin. Once the world opens up I will see if he wants me to move him. Well I will send the stuff to you later once the update goes through and all that stuff is legal. But for now I have a few potions to make."
"Have fun."
Vindictus blew out a long breath. This was the first time in what seemed like forever that he was alone. It was not like it was a big crowd or anything like that but it just seemed like a lot. The shop let him right in and then he pulled out all of the stuff he had and a few of the high level beginner recipes and started to work. He had finished up his fourth batch of ingredients and leveled his Alchemy to level five when he got a notification.
'The guild has twenty guys and they are after us.'
'Send me an invite so I can track you. I am on the way.'
Vindictus started running as fast as he could. He had a rat to go and deal with.
