Chattering like a flock of birds, Issei crossed his arms while he watched Venelana chat away with the girls while Kiba joined him.

"You were right, she is our mum."

After Venelana had been informed by her daughters and son, biological and adopted, of how Issei came into the picture, she enjoyed listening to the stories they told.

There was still time before dinner so she asked Issei Hyoudou to move along. There was privacy needed.

All of Rias' Peerage knew this would only mean one thing.

"Chief is going to get his ass kicked. I do hope Venelana-sama keeps him alive."

"I don't want to be the one who tells those Fallen Angels that he has fought Mother."

None of them were ambitious enough to stop Venelana from testing him out.

Issei was not an idiot who walked blissfully unaware of his doom. He could exactly feel what this mother wanted from him.

He just hoped that he could live through that fight.

They walked through the palace as if there was one particular destination in mind.

The other door opened and like a gentleman, Issei walked up to her.

"Allow me."

"You are really well raised."

When he opened the door, he found himself, standing on the outside. It looked like an open courtyard but Issei could smell the magic, flowing through the place and a sun that had begun its course downwards.

"I take you know why I brought you here." The Dragon could see the powers waving through her and if he didn't know the red hair of Rias so well, he could swear the woman before him, was his fiancée.

"And you know what my powers are."

"Your daughters inherited them from you. I heard quite a few stories from my former associates. Mother of Ruin."

Venelana had a soft smile but that didn't stop the powers from looking any less scary that Issei gulped and he felt Albion shudder.

The soft giggle that she made, was not reassuring at all.

"That is true, Issei-kun. Now, I heard a lot about you and I saw your Rating Game but I'd like to test you out to see how far I can push you."

There was no way he would get away from this. So it was best to go all out on this matter.

"Albion, Balance Breaker." Issei knew he would not have a chance to play around. Best to go all in at once.

Albion feared that if Issei lost this match, there was an uncertainty he would survive.

Issei had learned many things throughout his life. One of the earliest lessons was that you learned more from defeat than from winning.

He had spent eight years on that path and by the time that he began to win, it was against beings that would kill him if he lost.

Venelana was a new name that had defeated the Vanishing Dragon. Of course, he held back and he didn't use his Holy Weapons as he didn't want to kill Venelana.

The same could be said about hers. He hoped. He wished.

Because the fight had been something that took serious effort out of him.

He had deactivated the [Sacred Gear], more out of the fact that he was physically and mentally battered. It had been one hell of a fight where the Lady of the House had tested him.

It was her soft smile that stood above him.

The good news was that her gloves would be replaced. So he did some damage there.

But she was the one who looked pristine. Issei was the one who had been battered. With his Gear now gone, it showed a clean and delicious six-pack while his trousers were now shorts. Plus, he lost his shoes.

"I have to admit. You really know how to fight."

"It's incredible how much time you have when you don't have to go to school. You can learn a lot."

Venelana chuckled when she heard Issei's comment.

"Did I pass the test or not?"

He really wished that he didn't have more issues now. He had already proven himself to her sister, now her mother.

Issei had high hopes that something could bloom.

"There will be many more. But I know that you are a capable, responsible young man. Now, we'll have dinner in an hour. I presume you'll be ready and cleaned up by then."

Issei had somewhat thought she would make sure that he could move but when Venelana had moved, he still lay in the garden with his eyes up to the sky.

A part of him hoped that he could move so he could take a shower, change into clothes that didn't reek or fall off, and have that said dinner.

His eyes were telling him to close his eyes and fall asleep but he couldn't let Rias down.

Now, if only his body followed his mind.

"Am I correct in assuming that you must be Issei Hyoudou?"

The voice sounded awfully familiar, although male, a nice baritone, and carried something that Issei would describe as fatherly pride.

Issei looked up to see green eyes and red hair. The small beard had some horns on the end and the suit was white with golden lines and a black undershirt.

The same crimson hair was tied up in a small ponytail.

"You'd be correct, sir. Am I talking to Rias and Sirzechs' father?"

Zeoticus Gremory had a small laugh when he heard Issei talk.

"I believe my wife went to you first. Pity, I'd love to test you out myself."

Issei did not want to have another fight with one of Rias' parents.

"That can be done but not tonight. Right now, I require a shower, some clean clothes, and a good meal. And after that, an early bed."

Zeoticus sat down right next to Issei, not hindered by the destroyed garden.

"I do fear that will have to wait. I can't test you out in combat but there will be some serious drinking tonight. And don't use the excuse you are a minor. We will drink."

Issei sighed but he found that it was for the best if that was how Zeoticus wanted to test him out.
