Chapter 34 She really was a devil.

Rias heard him speak. She leaned in closer to Issei and whispered so softly in his ear as she spoke of her plan to get Riser to sign his own trap.

She really was a Devil. Issei smiled when she told him her plan.

"I agree. This plan isn't just very agreeable, it's very rewarding and cathartic." Issei also realized that it showed what Rias thought of him.

He couldn't argue that he liked this idea.

"So can I count on you? On every part?"

Issei nodded to Rias.

"I think we should discuss this in private. Would you all be so kind?" The rest of the Peerage and group understood and after a word or action of comfort, they left the Crimson-Haired Princess.

When they had walked through the door, Issei's eyes were soft as he waved at Asia and Raynare.

When they settled on Rias, they turned serious.

"While I am not taking back my words of what I said, your idea is rewarding and cathartic, this does lead to another development, Rias. Are you sure about that?"

Rias raised an eyebrow when she heard Issei talk.

"If you carry this out and this goes, it would simply mean that I would take Riser's place. Are you fine with that?"

Rias nodded to his question.

"I do not intend to ruin my clan. I intend to continue my bloodline and take a husband. And it might sound weird but I much rather choose you, instead of Riser. Do you see a problem with this plan?"

Issei barked a laugh as he looked at the heiress.

"Have you lost your mind, Rias? If you are willing to have me, I am fine being your guardian." He got more serious though when he thought about this idea.

"While I am not saying that I disagree with this idea, we will go through the route as I would normally do."

Rias' face was elated when she heard that line.

"Does that mean?"

"Yes. Rias Gremory, when I save you, would you be so kind to date me?"

He would have loved to hear a yes from her but the kiss that burned with passion was just as good as not better.

'Score!' Issei said as his arms wrapped around her delicate and soft frame.

No way in hell he was ever going to hand her over to some shitbag who thought he had any right to her.

If Rias chose him as her lover, then he would act like one.

And as any good lover would do, he would protect the ones that he loved.

When the Peerage of Rias Gremory entered the Clubroom, the sight of their [King] was a polar opposite of how they had left her the day before.

The Peerage didn't know what Issei had told Rias or what Rias had asked of him.

The sight thought was as adorable as it was mystifying.

At least, for Kiba and Koneko.

Akeno had a demure giggle at the sight of Rias sitting in Issei's lap.

The [Queen] hadn't expected Rias to take up a march on her.

She had taken up the chair as usual but this time, Issei sat behind her.

His arms were wrapped loosely around her middle as she looked over the papers. Due to his height, his head was above hers.

Issei lazily waved at the Peerage who still had the flabbergasted look on their faces.

Rias had explained to him what was going on and she had requested that he left his Angels and Asia home. It was already hard enough to explain to her family what she had done.

She didn't want Riser to go overboard on her pick.

If the over-bloated ego of him wouldn't already get the better of him by the sight.

It was Koneko who broke the silence.

"Buchou?"

Looking upon her [Rook], Rias addressed her.

"Yes, Koneko?"

"Do you want me to take out the trash or did you willingly go to sit on his lap?"

Issei wasn't even insulted by her words.

It helped that Koneko was a small, adorable girl.

Everyone was nicer to her.

"I prefer you don't," Rias answered and the glare that Issei got from the first year made the warning clear.

'Make her cry and I'll do my best to make you cry.'

Rias had another giggle ready for her.

"Ara, ara. Rias. I didn't expect you to be so aggressive. Your talk with Issei-kun last night did wonders."

The smile that Rias gave, was a warning to her best friend. She had a good feeling about how Akeno felt around Issei. But she wouldn't just let her take a piece of Issei.

"Indeed. I have found a solution to my problem."

Kiba's uneasy laugh made him wonder if he got senile.

"How exactly a solution, Buchou?"

Too much of a gentleman, her parents did wonders with him.

"My family complains about me not having a suitable husband. Hence why I picked one myself." Rias' words were so incredulous that none of her Peerage could believe what she had just said.

Luckily, their minds also understood what Issei could do.

Issei and Rias had a long, long talk about their agreement.

While Issei had not a single problem with having a relationship with the bombshell, marriage wasn't something on his mind right now.

Rias would pick Issei as her fiancée and later, they could see through that whole thing.

Issei realized that this would mean he would bind himself to the Devils. No longer would he be a neutral party in this city.

He would be an ally to the Devils.

While neither Rias nor Sona could order him as a servant, for the Church, it meant that he would never be able to walk in Rome again.

But he couldn't care. Saving beautiful girls was a calling.

[Glad that you finally start getting serious about a harem. It is about time brat, although the color of her hair pisses me off.]

'Can it.'

[I'm more surprised that she would play your tune, regarding your Fallen.]

'Rias realizes that she is asking and can't make demands. Sides, it's not like I am that unreasonable.'

[She'll need to get along with the Fallen. Do you think that will be easy?]

'The quickest way to become friends is to shed blood, tears, and sweat together. And something tells me that we'll have plenty of that.'
