DxD | Child of Ira

Reincarnation was a treasured dream for many people and I had been lucky enough to receive it. I was granted a wonderful family, plenty of wealth, and the blessing of magic but everything came at a cost. In this case, it was the intrinsic danger of the world where gods roamed freely and myth was merely a forgotten truth. I had been reborn in Highschool DxD. **** If you enjoy my work you can support me on patre*on.com/TrapOverlord for up to 12 chapters ahead.

Chapter 83

Following the peace meeting between the three factions, Damian found himself in a bit of a conundrum. His Queen, Ingvild Leviathan, had requested a date as a reward and he didn't plan on denying her the opportunity.

That isn't to say however that he knew what he was doing. He had no idea how to plan a date and even less on how to act during said date. To put it nicely, he was a complete novice despite his handsome face and wealth.

'I'm lucky she said she'd plan it.' Standing in the middle of a large shopping center Damian wore casual clothes that he hadn't worn in years. Fiddling with his neck it felt odd to not have a tie but he was broken free of his concerns when his shoulder was tapped.

"Are you ready to go?" She asked, a bright smile on her face that seemed to illuminate the entire world. She was a simple sundress but on her, it seemed incomparably beautiful. She had a small blush on her cheeks that showed she was in a similar state as Damian.

"Mhm. You're beautiful." Nodding confidently Damian had a small grin on his face as as her blush increased twofold. Many of the people around him were beautiful but few compared to Ingvild in his mind. She was a gentle beauty much like his mother after all.

"You're quite charming yourself. Come on, we have lots to see." Grabbing his hand she pulled him to their first destination, a loud place full of children and teens alike where many would come to relax.

"An arcade?" Damian wondered aloud, a small amount of surprise in his eyes. Ingvild didn't seem the type to play at arcades but at the same time, he recently realized he didn't know enough about the people around him to make an assumption.

"I've never been before and I wanted to go with you first." Ingvild explained with a somber yet excited smile. Her sleeping disease had made it difficult to do many of the things she wanted to as a child and now she wanted to do all of them with Damian.

"Then let's do everything you want." Gently running a hand through her hair Damian easily agreed. He understood the sentiment of wanting to make up for lost time and if it helped both of them while letting them have some fun why wouldn't he agree?

For the next few hours, they traveled much of Japan, playing around with all the attractions Ingvild liked. They played at arcades, went down water slides, rode roller coasters, and so much more that she couldn't never even begin to explain how happy it made her.

"Can we make one last stop?" Ingvild abruptly requested as they wandered through a park to catch their breath. It was late and the moon lay directly above in an attempt to illuminate the world creating an almost ethereal glow on Ingvild.

"We can make as many as you want." Damian replied with a soft chuckle. He truly enjoyed himself on this date of theirs even if they weren't things he particularly enjoyed. Just seeing how much fun she was having made it worthwhile. Her smile was infectious.

"Then can we stop by the Underworld? I have something I want to show you." Ingvild requested with her head turned, her ears a fierce crimson. Nodding in response he allowed her the honor of creating the magic circle.

"The Leviathan estate?" Unlike what Damian expected, however, he found himself in the home of Serafall Leviathan even if she spent more nights with Sona in Kuoh. It was a famous place as the home of two Leviathans both new and old and naturally entrance was restricted.

"Serafall gave me permission to enter whenever I want. She said it was my house as much as it was hers. She's quite nice isn't she?" Ingvild explained as she led him through the building, the luxuries much more modern than one would expect but that was to be expected of Serafall.

"Yes, sometimes I wonder how somebody as nice as hers could be the foreign affairs head of society. But then I remember the times she threatened to kill me for getting close to Sona and it becomes obvious." Damian explained with a chortle.

Giggling in response Ingvild led him down a long set of stairs until they stood before a large gate covered with tricky defenses. The door itself was strong but the spells would destroy anything inside if it was broken instead of defending it. It was an old method of protection.

There were some bloodline linked spells but besides that, it was devoid of anything you'd find in a modern treasury. But that didn't matter when Ingvild could simply press her hand on it and it'd swing open without a fight.

"Leviathan wasn't known for collecting important treasures but just anything that caught her eyes so most of them are useless. You're free to take some if you'd like." Leading Damian through the large sage filled with glittering gold and shining silver Ingvild didn't even look at him.

"I can see that. She definitely fits the bill of Envy." Damian spoke casually as they walked past glass cases with beautiful but impractical treasures. They all dated back thousands of years and had quite the value but there was no magic in most of them so they weren't overly amazing.

Keeping quiet Ingvild stopped in front of a single case. It was a luxurious ring and was one of the few with both historical and magical value. Even if Damian had never seen it he knew who it belonged to, everybody in the Underworld would.

"Solomon's Ring?" Damian muttered with wide eyes. Solomon was the hero of the Devils to this day and any treasure of his was something to be treated as a family heirloom. But his ring was a special case.

The diary his family had given up was one of the more important things as it detailed much of the king's daily life but it couldn't even compare to the ring in front of them. Historically it had as much value as a tool of God would to the angels but magically is where it truly shined.

As Solomon was a master of magic each object he wore had some kind of magical effect of the highest caliber. The ring in particular was extremely helpful for Damian. It possessed the power to nullify magic that had less energy than he possessed upon contact.

Smiling at his wonder, Ingvild opened up the case while Damian cocked an eyebrow. Even if Serafall herself couldn't get it there was no way the council would allow the ring to be taken out so easily if they knew about it which they likely did by now.

However, those thoughts vanished from his mind as Ingvild went on one knee and held the ring out to him. "Will you marry me?"
