“Turn up the music,” Erin demanded.
This I happily did, and we blared The Red Hot Chili Peppers the rest of the way home.
After dropping off Becca and making it home, I went to my room to do homework before going to bed. I was so confused. Whatever I was doing wasn’t working, but I had to just keep trying. Jealousy I never knew I was capable of seared through my veins at the thought of Becca saying someone else was hot. But it was fine. I had Geno, and he was hot. So I might as well see where that would lead.

Saturday morning, September fifth, dawned bright and sunny. Well, I wasn’t really up at dawn, but I woke up pretty early because I had a parade to go to. My mom and sister were still asleep as I left the house and drove to the school. It was already extremely hot outside. We loaded up our instruments in the band trailer, got on the bus, and went to a nearby town. Becca sat by me and I was hyper and talkative the whole trip.
