Weight of Leadership

Alex handed her a glass of water before taking a seat on a nearby chair. "So, this is your house, huh?" Nabila remarked, sipping the cold water as she observed the small house.

Alex nodded apologetically. "Yeah, I'm sorry if it looks dirty and small."

Kris hastily shook her head. "No! Actually, your house is very clean than mine. To be honest, I prefer smaller houses over big ones its easy to use."

Her words carried a hint of sadness, visible on her face. Alex gazed at her silently, allowing a brief moment of quiet to envelop the atmosphere.

...

Finally, Alex smiled carefreely and said, "Is that so? Well then, you're welcome to visit anytime. Don't worry about it being small."

Nabila's eyes lit up with excitement. "Really?! Then I'll definitely come over. If I could, I would visit every day!"

Her previously sad expression vanished, replaced by a radiant smile that seemed to brighten the surroundings.

"Um, sure, just don't damage anything. Everything here is precious to me," Alex replied, his tone serious. "By the way, could you help me distribute the meals and ingredients I bought? It would really help me manage them. And if you could say some positive words about me, it would be greatly appreciated."

Nabila questioned, "Why don't you give them yourself?"

Alex sighed, his expression filled with concern. "As the leader, it's important for me to assert my authority and demonstrate my leadership. If I don't do that, how can I expect the gang members to listen to my orders? Furthermore, this time I've managed to acquire a substantial amount of food that can sustain the gang for months. We now have enough for three meals every day."

He paused, his tone thoughtful. "But the problem is if I create the expectation that I can consistently gather such a huge amount of food or money every month, but then fail to deliver, it will only lead to disappointment and could potentially ignite a full-blown rebellion among the gang members. It's a delicate balance I need to maintain. I don't want them to become overly reliant on me for their sustenance. That would diminish their motivation to contribute. Its also help me for my study. You had to understand.

Nabila inquired, "What do you want me to do?"

Alex responded, "I don't want you to do anything major, just be a donator and let them know that I managed to convince you to donate the food to them. It will help maintain order and unity within the gang," he said with a serious tone.

A serious look covered nabila's face and she said, "Don't worry, I won't!"

Afterwards, the two engaged in a lengthy conversation before Nablia finally decided it was time to go home. At the doorway, Alex stood, watching as Nabila walked towards the school road,a black hover car that had appeared seemingly out of nowhere from the sky.

"Goodbye, Alex! Thanks for inviting me to your house. I'll come visit again. See you tomorrow!" Nabila waved her hand at Alex before getting into the car.

Alex also waved his hands at her for a while until the car disappeared into the Cloudy sky.

Watching the car disappear in sight, Alex smiled, "Now that she's gone, it's now time for me to go to Alteria"

Before he could turn around to house Alex disappeared magically.

"Fuck I forgot that I can't cast the spell just by thinking it. Whether it's in my mind or spoken aloud, it's the same," Alex cursed in frustration.

Clad in his white school shirt and blue pants, he inspected the surroundings. "It looks like I really appeared where I was last located yesterday."

As he tried to move, a sudden wave of pain washed over his body.

"Damn! My body feels drained every time I teleport. It takes a significant amount of energy," Alex lamented, feeling the exhaustion weighing him down. "I guess I'll have to increase my calorie intake from now on."

Lost in his thoughts, Alex left the alley, unaware that a group of thugs who had encountered him the day before had been observing the area, patiently waiting for his return.

"Just like we thought, that guy appeared again in that alley." he remarked.

His lackey, eager to please, pointed out, "Boss, look at his clothes. He really stands out as someone from the nobel society.

But why is he heading towards the slum district? Boss, what should we do now?"

The boss sneered, "What else? Of course, you should follow him. A nobel man like him can't come without guards.!"

"Okay, boss!" The lackey and a few other thugs immediately set off in the direction Alex had taken.

"If we just kidnap him and ask for ransom, we could live a leisurely life for the rest of our days," one of the lackeys suggested, with a greedy glint in his eyes.

Walking down the streets, Alex made his way towards the property he had purchased the day before. The location was close to the slums, not far from the outer gate of the city. However, since the Golden House was situated near the city center, it took Alex about 15 minutes to reach his destination.

"I'm finally here," Alex said, exhaling with a sense of relief.

As he gazed at the old building before him, he couldn't help but let out a sigh. "It looks exactly like the image shown in the photo crystal."
