“We’re not afraid of Urella anymore,” Sheila stated boldly. “She’s doing as we say. So, why should we be afraid of that guy? He’s not even coming out because he must be so afraid.”
It was clear that something had happened between her two friends while she was away. Vernicia was ordering Urella around and Sheila was ready to occupy Mr. Heyer’s house. If it was his house legally, that is.
“I suppose you’re right then,” Julietta replied. “Suppose the house doesn’t legally belong to him, then we can also go and sit there until Raine comes to sort him out,” she commented. “But what if he has a gun and chases us away? What if he takes us captive in there?”
“He is only one little man on his own,” Sheila replied. “Don’t worry,” she added with a smile.
“I’m going to have to say that I’m sick and can’t go to school tomorrow,” Vernicia commented after ending her call.
“What is Urella saying?” Julietta asked, biting her nails anxiously.
