Sheila slowly pulled the vehicle off to the side of the road.
“Now, let’s discuss this calmly and properly,” she suggested. “Breathe in deep,” she said to Julietta.
“If anyone goes to that place in the forest it will have to be with a truck, not a car,” Emile stated firmly.
“Who has a truck at home?” Julietta asked. “Shouldn’t we call the police?”
“Raine is the one who should have called the police,” Sheila responded. “If we call them now they might feel that Raine is wrong and then go and arrest him because they will say that he’s taking the law into his own hands.”
“You’re right,” Emile agreed.
“So, we should go on our own and try to make him change his mind?” Julietta asked as she twisted her hands together, trying to stop them from shaking.
“Why don’t you ask Vernicia to come with her father’s van and then the three of you can go and try to persuade him since he’s angry,” Emile suggested. “He’s more likely to listen to girls than another male.”
