Chapter 32: Elliot Gives Shocking News

When he reached the lakeside, Elliot saw Emile and Julietta beginning to walk away, towards the footpath.

“Wait!” he called out.

“Who’s that?” Emile asked in surprise.

“It’s me!” Elliot called out.

“What are you doing out here alone and so late?” Julietta asked.

“I was waiting for you guys until I passed out, I think,” Elliot replied.

“What do you mean by saying that you think that you passed out,” Emile asked in concern. “Did you fall asleep while you were waiting?”

“I don’t know,” Elliot replied, trying to clear his mind. “I just now woke up on the ground in the forest itself.”

“What is the last thing you remember?” Julietta asked in alarm. “Where were you last?”

Elliot tried hard to think.

“I don’t usually pass out, but I remember waiting for you just a short distance into the forest.

“Maybe you suffer from a lack of glucose in your blood,” Emile suggested. “When last did you eat?” he asked.

Elliot closed his eyes as he tried to think.
