CHAPTER NINETEEN

Colby's P.O.V

I've been watching the same crap for four hours, and the pain in my head is slowly going away but regardless I'm still overly tired.

Maybe I hit my head off something when I fell and that's why they wouldn't let me sleep maybe they thought I had a concussion.

Yawning I got up off the couch and walked to the kitchen, I walked to the kettle and filled it with water as I put it back into place and turned it on, both kids were in bed and my mother is out on the deck talking to my wife.

I got a mug and put it beside the kettle as I filled it with my contents; vanilla rooibos tea and a teaspoon of sugar.

My hands holding me up against the counter as I yawned deeply as the smell of hot steam filled the room, I turned off the kettle before it begins to boil loudly and poured it into the cup.

I placed two teaspoons of sugar and stirred with the spoon. I quickly washed the spoon and placed it back into the drawer.

I put my hand in my pocket where my cigarettes are and I took one out of the package placing it between my lips, then out of my pocket I took out a small black lighter and lit it with a click.

I leaned my back against the counter as I inhaled deeply, my eyes squinted with thought.

What was with the sounds of beeping and the white room, usually it indicates that I'm in a hospital but I'm here, in a house with my wife, my daughter, brother, and mother.

None of this is making sense and it's starting to feel too good to be true. The searing pain is back making me hiss I turn around and drink my tea.

I close my eyes in the taste of bliss, as tears filled my eyes and ran down my cheeks.

I know I have everything I ever wanted but the fact I can't remember anything makes me feel broken.

Did I hit my head, it would make sense I mean my head is killing me, maybe I have a concussion.

I wiped my eyes and sniffled back the rest of my tears I took another sip and went walked onto the deck.

"Hello dear," my mother said with a sad smile.

"Hi mum," muttered, taking a seat in the chair next to Chloe.

"Did I hit my head at all?" I asked, putting my fingers through my short hair.

They gave each other a look before Chloe answered.

"You were in the shed and I came in and found you laying on the floor," she explained nervousness in her voice.

"Oh," I said, getting my answer.

"I must have hit my head," I added.

"You must have Colby, I keep telling you to be careful in that death trap." My mother said incredulously.

I sighed and took another sip of my tea

"Is that why you wouldn't let me sleep?" I asked leaning back into my chair.

"We are worried you might have a concussion." My mother said worry in her voice.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked irritably.

My mother looked at Chloe. She was staying out of this one.

"I'm sorry, there was so much you don't remember I just," she cut off as she began to cry.

"No it's okay I was just confused." I explained.

She sniffled wiping her eyes.

Chloe's P.O.V

I went back to work the next day, and I announced the news to my boss and co-workers, they seemed to have mixed emotions about the pregnancy mostly because I am so young but it's a little too late for lectures and they all know it.

I continued my job this time wearing sneakers and the uniform they had given me.

Although it's been a month since I found out and it's starting to feel a bit tight so I'm going to have to get a bigger uniform.

I have a small bump as my stomach begins to grow bigger with the days passing by, I'm still having what they call "morning sickness," but they say it's normal with pregnancy.

I believe I'm now around a month and three weeks, I don't understand the weeks over a month so to make things easier it's a month and three weeks.

So I have less than 8 months to get everything ready for this beautiful bundle of joy comes into the world.

Hayley and I saved money to buy a crib and things we would need for the baby.

I don't know how to be a mother since I never had one myself so I'm scared what will happen once the baby is born.

I checked out of work and walked up to the parking lot where Hayley is waiting for me, I can't wait to go home and meet up with Jason and his friends who want to join my gang, it didn't take much convincing since I just told them the story of what happened with Colby and his family.

Tonight we make a small move, first we hunt down Lucey, she's number one on my hit list but it won't be fast I'm going to make it slow and torturous, I'm going to make her feel all the pain I have for the past six month.

It's been getting quite cold, the air seem to have an icy feel to it as September is ending, I took a breath of the cold air, as I exhaled I could see my breath it was like steam from my lips.

I hugged myself as I waited out in the parking lot and Hayleys car drove up in front of me, my face turned to a sinister smile I could feel my mind switch over as I got into the car.

I closed the door behind me and put on my seat belt and we drove out of the parking lot.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Hayley questioned nervously.

"Absolutely. It's time to get what she deserves." I answered over excited.

"The boys are waiting for us at the garage," she said taking a cigarette from the glove box.

The garage is where Jason has been working for the past year, and he is also the owner since it used to be his father's but he passed away.

Turns out Alistair is the reason for Jason's father's death which makes the revenge even more bittersweet.

"Okay is that where we are heading now, can I get one or are you just going to smoke in front of me?" I asked jokingly.

"You really shouldn't smoke you know, its-"

"Bad for the baby I know, but right now I'm craving bad so just let me have one," I finished for her.

She took another from the glove box and passed it to me, I placed it between my lips and lit it taking a deep inhale.

We drove down the highway a little over the limit and I turned on the radio, it played 'Nice to meet ya' and I turned it up as loud as it could go, and I sang along making Hayley laugh.

We drove into the garage as I finished my cigarette and I threw it out the window, turned off the car and got out as Jason closed the garage door behind us with an unlit cigarette placed between his lips.

I'm not going to lie he is quite attractive with his short messy hair and green eyes, and his muscular physique.

He is wearing a woman beater and black Jeans, he lit his cigarette and walked over to us as we got out and gave me a hug.

"How are you feeling?" He asked giving me a gentle squeeze.

"I'm feeling good, real good especially about tonight." I said with a smile.

"That's good because so am I," he said with a short laugh showing off his pearl white teeth with a genuine smile.

"So where are the others?" Hayley asked shifting her weight on her other foot.

"They are out running a few errands for me right quick they should be back soon," Jason explained more seriously.

"Errands as in.." I looked at him questionably.

"Yes they went to get the package," he confirmed my thoughts.

The package is a code name for Lucey, and my excitement heightened.

"I figured you'd want to be here when it does." He said with a smirk.

"You figured right," I said smiling back.

A beeping of a car came from outside, and jason looked at me.

"You ready?" He asked as his hand was on the switch, I nodded in anticipation.

He flicked the switch and the doors came open, and a blue hatchback drove in, I noticed only the two of them were in the car.

I looked at Jason confused but he matched my expression, Eli opened the driver's door and got out.

"Dude close the door, I can't take her out with it open." Eli said breathless.

Jason closed the door and Clay got out of the passenger seat and walked to the back of the car to the trunk.

I looked at clay with and eyebrow raised, he just shrugged his shoulders and he opened the trunk and pulled Lucey out putting her over his shoulder.

"Where do you want her?" He asked looking at Jason.

Jason went and got a metal chair that had wrist restraints and placed it in the middle of the room.

"Put her in this and strap her down." He ordered, Clay placed her in the chair and fastened the restraints.

Lucey seemed to be out cold and she had a cloth tightened between her lips.

"We put her out with chloroform, made it easier." Eli explained with his arms crossed, I nodded at his explanation.

I took a switchblade from my pocket and popped it open, it was made out of silver and a ragged but sharp blade.

"Should we wait til she wakes up?" Eli questioned.

"No," I answered and took her arm and began to carve into her forearm, 'He is not yours' blood spilled over and began to splatter against the floor she let out a screeching yelp, her eyes bulged as she woke up to the pain.

She tried to take ragged breaths as she tried to come to our surroundings.

Then she saw my face and the blade in my hand and that's when she started to panic, I let out a laugh as her face turned into fear.

"Oh has the tables turned," I said still laughing.

Tears ran down her face as she tried to pull from the restraints.

"Don't bother their metal, you aren't getting out." I said with a smirk making her panic more and shook her head in fear, I took the cloth from her face.

"Why are you doing this?" Lucey cried.

"We both know the answer to that, now don't we?" She looked at her arm and back up at me.

"He was mine, he was mine and you took him from me!" She screamed angrily.
