"Hey, Mubai, where is our perverted duo?" - asked Tang San on the way back to the hotel. Recently Oscar didn't join them on the routes to brothels.
"Tch, make a guess." - he said with a longing look. - "I wanted to go with them..."
"Then go." - Zhu Zhuqing happened to be around and gave him an icy look with no emotions at all. To everyone's surprise, she wasn't actually angry.
"What happened? Aren't they kind of close?" - wondered Xiao Wu observing the duo with rapt attention. Although a girl and a friend, they never actually talked about her and Dai Mubai. And lately, they grew distant.
"Mubai, did you do something to upset Zhuqing again?" - asked Ning Rong Rong, when the latter stormed inside her room.
"Don't poke your nose where it doesn't belong." - he answered harshly. Rong Rong grew quiet and a bit depressed. Couldn't she worry about her friend and try to help them out?
"Brother Bai, I think you shouldn't be so harsh." - Oscar came to Rong Rong side and put a hand on her shoulder in encouragement. Surprisingly the latter only turned her head and smiled at him never minding the touch.
"I know, okay..." - he sighed. - "It was a mistake she found out about."
Rong Rong sighed helplessly.
"You know... any woman has a limit to her tolerance. I'm afraid this time you broke her heart for good." - to this remark, Aiden frowned. Many things really didn't play out like they were in the novel. It is more like a real world after all, with people meeting, being together, separating and... dying.
He sighed and decided to go for a walk while glancing sideways at one unassuming person by the side.
That unassuming person nodded in a barely visible manner and went to the side, snapping his fingers inaudibly while the ring on it recorded something, producing inaudible soul chime of a certain wave pattern.
It was very weak and covert. No one will be able to guess anything from it, especially in the densely populated city full of similar emanations.
On the other side of the city a man rubbed his ear, where a little earing was located, and his eyes shifted with a spark of understanding deep within them. He smiled at the elderly woman, who was looking through the groceries of his stall and turned to the boy.
"Son, I'll go take a break for half an hour, stand here for me, okay?"
"Sure, dad." - the boy nodded with enthusiasm. He liked to take care of the stall himself. It gave him a sense of achievement.
The man walked a couple of buildings away and entered a newly established pub. It appeared in Suotuo City about a year ago and was thriving since then.
"What would you like?"
"Sixth position from your menu. And make it cold, like from the top of a mountain, but be hasty, I don't have much time." - he said, tapping on the bar with a certain rhythm.
"Sure thing, it will be here soon." - said the woman with a spark of understanding in her eyes and walked inside.
The moment she appeared in the kitchen, she went for the cellar.
"Table at the corner, Shadow Beer. Serve him, I need to take a break for a while." - she said to a regular servant boy, and the latter nodded, but before that gave her a piece of paper.
"Came just now."
The woman entered the cellar and passed directly through the wall as if it was never there. Meanwhile, she unfolded the paper and read through it in a fast manner.
"Lord Sixth, Sovereign is in need of your assistance. Also, we have a report that Ling Mei is on the move. She is tailing targets we are designated to protect." - with that, she passed a piece of paper to the Sixth. A man behind the mask sneered.
"It is always so entertaining to see them think they are so damn smart." - he said with a deep powerful voice and stood up. - "Continue tailing here. I will report that to the Sovereign myself."
Sixth moved out like a black cloud. His martial spirit was of shadow and wind attribute, making his innate talents perfect for the assassination line of work. He was one of the few in Dragon Fang who can even fool low-level Tilted Douluo senses at his current level.
* * *
Deep in the night.
"Hoho, that girl was awesome, so flexible!" - exclaimed Aaron, while sipping wine from the gourd. This gourd was his spirit and could produce wine inside for him to drink.
"You tell me, I had twins, they really were insatiable." - Hongjun was walking beside him on an empty street. - "Ah, we will be reprimanded for staying so late."
"Hehe..." - from the darkness of a street came eerie laughter.
"Who is that?" - Ma Hongjun looked around, finding no one.
"I hate men like you." - said a black-clad woman appearing out of the shadow like a ghost. - "But I have an order to bring you with me. Follow or die."
"Big sis, you are sure..."
"Shut up." - just as Ma Hongjun was about to try his way out through talking, he found himself shivering from tremendous killing intent. He wasn't new to that, Aiden had similar pressure around him, but if his was straightforward and honorable, then killing intent of this girl reeked of coldness and malevolence.
Still, in comparison to Aiden, that girl was... nothing remarkable.
He instantly knew that nothing will come out from just talking and unleashed his spirit and rings with Aaron following suite.
Woman with the outer appearance of about twenty years old girl just sneered.
"Is that it? I don't even know why Divisions need trash like you." - her voice was still cold with additional mocking notes which pissed off Ma Hongjun and he sprung into action with no consideration.
A fireball of phoenix flames flew at the girl, but the latter simply waved her hand, sending a bolt of black lightning that easily tore through the fire and slammed into the cloud of wine vapor. It was a defensive skill inside the second ring of Aaron. It also creates some confusion to mask people within.
"Brother Jun, use it to strike with your third ring!"
The third ring this time was a bit different from canon but very powerful. It was a single target interminable distance strike with a tremendous speed which was called Phoenix Arrival. Fire converged into the vision of a Phoenix and shoot out like a bullet at the enemy's direction.
Woman in black made a step forward and suddenly conjured black scythe, enshrouding herself in a dark veil. Just as the strike reached her she vanished and reappeared to the side. Firebird pierced through the stone wall as if it was a piece of paper, melting it.
"That wasn't half bad. Firepower is really good for your level." - she said coldly.
She waved her scythe and Hongjun was prepared to fend off the long-distance strike when he suddenly felt tremendous pain at the side. He looked down to only see the blade of a scythe assembling from the tear in space and then saw that it was missing from the tip of the weapon in the hands of a woman.
"What a stupid lump of meat. They asked me to bring you alive. But ultimately it is my call. You don't deserve to be part of Divisions. We are heralds of the new era and you..." - she looked with disdain. - "you are just an ant we crush on our path."
"Hongjun, run!" - at that time Aaron dashed forward but the next moment woman stomped the ground lightly. A loud sound of stones being broken permeated the air and dozen of black lightning chains bound him to place. - "As for you, food master trash. You don't even deserve to die by my hand."
"No! NO!" - the next moment she waved her scythe again and severed Ma Hongjun head. No mercy, no remorse, and no room for mistakes when it comes to killing people. Aaron was scared to the core. - "Run, little lamb. Run away as far as you can."
Aaron was freed and woman no longer there, but he was so afraid that he did as the woman said. He ran away from Suotuo City, from Shrek and from the world of masters.
At least that was what the woman believed was happening.
