Douluo Dalu: Path of Immortal.

Well, the name and setting are more or less what this fan-fic is about. A man of about twenty got reincarnated in Douluo story, the same age as Tang San. The story is mostly original and I changed some facts from canon on purpose. MC is OP, but he will have his own share of OP enemies that were never present in canon. I made the universe way broader in some sense just for that. Note: this story is already 100k words long. When I finish posting them, it will go on temporary hiatus, as I won't write it until another fanfic on witcher world is finished. Writing is my hobby and I don't plan to stop as it is rather easy and entertaining for me.

Dragon Fang.

Aiden moved to his usual place and sat by the tree.

He took out a zither and scanned the surroundings using his dragon sense.

"Nexus?"

= No one around. No surveillance from teachers either.

"Good."

Aiden pressed a note, and the string twanged with a sound outside of human hearing diapason. He waited for a couple of breaths and a shadowy figure appeared behind him.

"Sovereign." - the man bowed while his voice sounded husky, yet full of power. By the stature, he looked to be only twenty five years old. But who can tell for sure in this cultivation world?

"Sixth, so it is you here. Good. How many people from Dragon Fang do we have in Suotuo City?"

"Seventeen Shadows, four Ghosts, and five Slayers." - he answered respectfully.

Dragon Fang like any organization has its own structure, positions, and rules. On the surface, they were a covert assassination guild that appeared several years ago, but in reality, it was an intelligence agency with the prime purpose to collect information about demons and kill people with corruption if the latter proved to irredeemable.

Shadow Division of Dragon Fang are people with official positions who were recruited and knew about demon threat first hand. When Dragon Fang made them theirs it was one of the crucial things to make people painfully aware of the Legion. Every person would be glad to serve the noble cause and that was the main agenda in establishing Dragon Fang throughout the Heaven Dou Empire and its affiliated kingdoms. Two years might be short, but with the idea, benefits, and clear noble goal of the organization it spread like wildfire, having people's support.

Shadows had several tasks and the primary one was to be simple informants and help other members to the extent of their position, nothing more, yet nothing less.

The Ghosts normally work with the information they gathered themselves and the one Shadow Division produced. They were mainly responsible for in-depth investigation and proving the validity of reports they gained.

After that, leaders of the Ghost Division will issue orders. They can be different from kidnapping and pouching to their side to killing, robbing, or arson.

Dragon Fang never cared about laws, but they always knew why and for what they targeted people and practically never made mistakes in judgment.

In comparison, the Slayer Division was the most straightforward one. They were there for extermination and execution of orders that were passed after verification.

But the most secretive Division was the fourth. It already became something akin to a legend among the Dragon Fang.

Numbers.

The rumors said that it was full of unbelievable talents and all of them went through special training and have mountains of arts and resources for themselves. They all were young and promising and ranked according to the number they are called.

As for their leader, they answer to only one person and are above anyone else. And that person is mysterious Sovereign himself, to whom they were extremely loyal, as it was said that Sovereign personally saved every one of them while giving chances for alternative life and be proud of what they can do and what they become afterward.

They have chances to be a part of something bigger and to have a cause worthy to fight and die for.

"Level?"

"My people can kill one Spirit Saint with demonic rings if you order so, Sovereign. I can do the same alone." - he said. Despite obvious respect, Sixth sounded close to Aiden. He wasn't afraid of him but was willing to listen to any commands out of his own volition.

"Good. Sixth, assign people to watch over all Shrek students during their practice. I want to know if anyone trying to do anything. If there is, notify me immediately. You are only to interfere if their life is at imminent danger. Otherwise, stay covered and wait for me to take action personally. Any movements from Spirit Hall?"

"Yesterday four people with demonic corruption entered the city. They are young and strong, proved to be from Zealot Divisions. Should we remove them?"

Aiden contemplated for a bit. It will be safe to kill them, but their disappearance will undoubtedly draw the attention of stronger figures and by that time there might be no way to cope with the onslaught. Better not poke the hornet's nest for now.

"See what they want. If they leave the city, follow to kill, but leave no evidence that we were the culprits. What about reports from shadows? Any people of notice?"

"None of the significance, Sovereign." - answered Sixth.

Aiden nodded and passed several envelopes to him.

"Take that, distribute among the branch people. The surplus should be sold to fund Dragon Fang."

Money was the least of the issues Aiden ever cared about. He alone with his rings can support such an organization as Dragon Fang, but he also wanted it to be self-sustainable and there are some plans to make it happen in the future.

* * *

When Aiden stepped again in the Coliseum he didn't know what to feel. But mostly he just found familiar places where they, he and Na'er, had their moments of warmth and childhood mischief. It all brought nostalgia, sweet memories and dull pain.

Once more.

Throughout the years after her death, Aiden tried to investigate the circumstances several times, but there were no leads at all. It was as if the killers appeared out of thin air. Knowing exactly where and when she will be alone, do the deed and escaped after cleaning everything up. Hell, he didn't even know how many people ambushed her!

Even Dragon Fang spies he ordered to infiltrate the Spirit Hall branch in Nouding City never had a chance to unearth anything. Well, there was actually something. The confidential order that was directly passed from Spirit Hall headquarters. The only lead Aiden could find is that the order to locate Na'er was given out under the seal of Supreme Elder himself, but after that, no response was ever given back. They clearly weren't able to trace her that easily.

That confidential order was a slight step forward, but still a step. However, with his level of power, it can as well be non-existent. In that regard, Aiden was patient. He never forgot about her and never stopped the investigation, but he knew full well that it all can't be done in one day.

Partly, his decision to create an organization of assassins and spies was inspired by the need to find the culprits and prevent such things from happening again.

"Okay, you all now will assume stage names and I will divide you into teams. Teams will be uneven, but it is necessary to do so for the main team and the ones of secondary positions, after all the classics of team battles are comprised of seven contestants." - Yu Xiaogang sat on the sofa and by now everyone already get used to his changes.

"Master... how should we be called?" - Tang San straightened his back on the armchair.

"Hmm, that is quite easy. Xiao Wu – Soft Bone Demon Rabbit, Ning Rong Rong – Seven Treasure Glazed Tile, Zhu Zhuqing – Hell Civet, Ma Hongjun – Evil Fire Phoenix, Dai Mubai – Evil Eyes White Tiger, Oscar – Sausage Monopoly and Aaron Cloud – Wine Monopoly. Bai Feng, as you use spear lets call you Wind Stab Spear. Shen Ming, for you it is Monkey King. Shui Yue'er will be known as Nine Water Fairy and Shui Bing'er Frozen World Phoenix. Tang San... as for you... how about Thousand Hand Silver Grass?"

"No, what a lame name." - pouted Xiao Wu. - "Everyone has wonderful ones, Bing'er for example! How grand does it sound! And what for Big brother?"

"Okay, okay, Little Wu, stop complaining."

"Maybe Thousand Hand Asura?" - Dai Mubai said, pleased with his choice but suddenly felt like something is amiss.

"Asura? Do you really want to call Tang San so in front of Aiden?" - now he finally realized where his mistake was.

"I don't mind, sounds good." - said Aiden but it seems no one ever cared about his opinion. - "Whatever, how about Blue Sky Tyrant?"

"Wow... that sounds grand!" - Xiao Wu approves giving him thumbs up. Nothing else matters.

"That is good." - Tang San said giving Aiden a grateful look. Seems like he was greatly intimidated by Grandmaster's ability at naming.

Moments later he mumbled something inaudible, and his eyes went round when he realized one simple thing. After a moment, his eyes turned serious.

"Aiden, we need to have a chat in private."

"Right now? I am yet to choose mine."

"You will go under your own name that was registered prior. After all, it won't be a challenge for them to have you in the fighting party. As for whether you want to fight or not, make your own choice. We are here for training purposes only." - Yu Xiaogang turned around, dismissing the group, and Aiden left with Tang San. They entered a dark corner and finally, the latter turned around.

"How do you know?" - asked Tang San with a serious face.
