Douluo Dalu: Martial Path

In the world of Douluo Dalu, being a Soul Master is an occupation. A title above normal mortals. Yet, despite the power and numerous other abilities one would gain as they thread the path of a Spirit Master, they were no different from a normal mortal. They would still die to natural causes and a spirit master didn't have a longer lifespan than a mortal, except when they reach the limits of a spirit master but they could only live by twice or thrice the lifespan of a mortal still. Just what was good being a spirit master? Especially if one can easily kill them by the hands of either technology or natural causes? They weren't much different from a mortal. That was what Feng Qin had come to a conclusion as he turned twelve, six years after awakening an unknown trash Martial Spirit. But, on a fateful day, one single lucky moment as he had just survive from a life and death situation, changed his life forever. ... AN: Hey it's yo boi, FroztDouluo back with another Douluo Dalu fanfic! And this time, it's a concept that I've taken inspirations from Martial World(just read the story since it's a prequel to True Martial World, my favorite story and one I'm hoping to make a fanfic of someday), True Martial World, Tales of Demons and Gods, God of Slaughter, etc. I really hope I can make this story great and won't eventually turn me off. Cause my last few stories were great in plotlines at the start but it had eventually gone downhill due to several reasons.(Mainly laziness, writer's block, and school.) So, I'm going to clarify a few things and reveal a couple spoilers. One, there will be some oc other than the mc in this story. Most of them would come from other stories that I had previously mentioned or you guys can help me create some of them through comments. Two, I prioritize pa-treon more than here so if you notice me being late to update than it must mean I was either busy writing more chapters in pa-treon or I'm resting from the exhaustion of it. Three, the update schedule is 2-3 chapters a week with at least 1k words. Chapters are uploaded in Wednesday and Friday/Saturday(UTC +8, Philippine time). Four, I will try to reply to most of the comments I see but don't count much, cause I don't really reply very well because I just don't know what to write back. I just hope it'll get to a hundred, or two, chapters before I drop it, or not? It depends on life really. And positive comments and reviews, I don't really care much of power stones(tho, that doesn't mean you can't...) but positive feedback on my work really inspires me more to write. Want to check out my pa-treon and be ahead of your fellow WN kin? Well here's the link: pa–treon.com/FroztDouluo *Just get rid of the dash.

Chapter 39: Feng Qin vs Cao Fengzi

The two fighters exchanged blows, their movements so fast that it was almost impossible for the normal eye to follow. The lightning and flames clashed like two opposing forces, but both of them were evenly matched.

Feng Qin was surprised at the agility of his opponent, dodging and attacking with lightning speed and precision. The white-haired man, on the other hand, was impressed with the power and heat of Feng Qin's flames.

Feng Qin grinned, feeling a great sense of excitement and thrill rushing through his bloodstream as his eyes burned a brighter purple color.

He pulled his right arm back, erupting into scorching purple flames, as he went to punch Cao Fengzi.

"Blazing Fist, 1st Form: Blazing Fist!"

Cao Fengzi was instantly blasted and engulfed with a large wave of purple flames, its intense heat made the referee, a Spirit Ancestor, retreat in fear.

Feng Qin's attack was fast and strong, but to his surprise, as the flames died down, Cao Fengzi was nowhere to be seen.

'From behind?' He guessed and sure enough, covered almost entirely with intense white arcs of lightning, Cao Fengzi appeared from behind him.

The white-haired man smiled, his hands crackling with lightning.

And for the first time ever, he spoke.

"Lightning Strike!"

With a flick of his wrists, bolts of lightning shot out from Cao Fengzi's fingers, aiming straight for Feng Qin.

The young man reacted quickly, surrounding himself with a protective shield of purple flames that absorbed the incoming lightning.

"Not bad," Cao Fengzi said, nodding. "No wonder you managed to one punch your enemies, they weren't just weak, you were just strong."

Feng Qin smirked at the compliment, but he knew he couldn't let his guard down. He focused, channeling more power into his flames and unleashing a series of attacks.

The two fighters continued their intense battle, their movements and techniques becoming more complex as they tried to gain the upper hand. The audience watched in awe as they exchanged blows, each one more spectacular than the last.

The audience couldn't contain their excitement as they watched the two fighters engage in an intense battle, their spirits still unsummoned.

"CAO FENGZI! CAO FENGZI! CAO FENGZI!"

"FENG QIN! FENG QIN! FENG QIN!"

The audience went absolutely wild.

The two fighters continued to exchange blows, their fighting styles and abilities complementing each other like a yin-yang balance. Feng Qin could feel his body heating up, utilizing more forms of the Blazing Fist Style, the fiery aura around him growing stronger with each strike.

The white-haired man, on the other hand, was charging up more and more lightning energy with each strike, his body becoming almost ethereal.

"Blazing Fists, 2nd Form: Eight Consecutive Punches!"

"Burst Lightning Ring!"

"Blazing Fists, 3rd Form: Flaming Claws!"

"Thunder and Lightning, Triple Fangs!"

"Blazing Fists, 4th Form: Dragon's Breath!"

"Roar of the Lightning Dragon!"

The two fighters pushed each other to their limits, neither willing to back down. The audience was enthralled, cheering and gasping as they watched the epic battle unfold.

"Holy shit. Is this really still a battle of Spirit Masters?" Someone in the audience muttered in disbelief, a lot of people nodded in agreement.

But they didn't really give it much thought. As long as it was entertaining and no one died, they would continue to watch!

Finally, after what felt like an eternity of fighting, one of them made a mistake. The white-haired man's lightning strike missed its target, leaving him open for a split second.

That was all that Feng Qin needed.

"Blazing Fist, 5th Form: Infernal Demon Fist!"

He unleashed a powerful punch, one that seemed to take on the image of a flaming demon head with its mouth open.

The white-haired man could only brace himself by crossing both his arms, encased with thick white lightning, as the punch connected, sending him flying off but his body burst out with crackles of lightning and he soon appeared at the edge of the area of their match.

Almost all his clothes were burnt off, mostly his upper clothes, making most of the females in the area blushing and some drooling in delight.

Feng Qin looked down at his fist, feeling an incredible numbing feeling that wouldn't fade for a long while.

'Amazing. Just like how my spirit power gained the Fire Element Attribute after cultivating the Heavenly Vast Universe Art to the first level and comprehending the first level of the Concept of Fire, this guy's spirit power also gained the Lightning Attribute but its more pure and natural than mine!'

He wryly smiled, 'And he did it all without the knowledge of otherworldly Martial Arts. This guy, is a monster!'

Cao Fengzi smiled and he stood up, ripping off his upper clothes completely, making some girls in the arena instantly screaming out.

Feng Qin scoffed, "Show off."

Cao Fengzi laughed, his white hair flowing in the wind, "Hey, gotta give the fans a little something extra, right?"

The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, amazed by the display of power and skill they had witnessed. The battle had been intense, and both fighters had pushed each other to their limits.

As they caught their breath, Feng Qin and Cao Fengzi locked eyes, a mutual respect and understanding passing between them.

"Up for round two?" Feng Qin asked, his hand now holding onto the handle of his Heavenly Yang Sword.

Cao Fengzi had a feral grin on his face as three spirit rings rose underneath his feet as a hammer appeared in his right hand, that was as long as a normal one, but had a bigger handle and head. The handle looked to be dark wood with intricate carvings, and the head of the hammer emitted a faint dark light.

Two yellow and one purple spirit ring circled around him.

"Round two, huh? I'm game," Cao Fengzi replied, twirling the hammer effortlessly in his hand.

The audience watched in anticipation, eager to see the continuation of this thrilling battle. The air crackled with energy as the two fighters prepared to unleash their full power once again.

Feng Qin gripped his Heavenly Yang Sword tightly and unsheathed out of his back, his eyes filled with determination. He channeled his spirit power into the blade, causing it to glow with a vibrant red hue.

One purple spirit ring circulated around his body.

The moment his spirit ring appeared, everyone went silent in shock and disbelief.

Mei Lin, who was just taking a break after her match by cultivating, had her concentration broken. Her eyes are wide, dumbfounded.

'How is that possible?!'

One purple spirit ring? A thousand year old spirit ring with a measly Spirit Scholar cultivation base?!

That was totally unheard of in the thousands of years history of spirit masters!

Cao Fengzi shared the same feeling as anyone else in the arena but he immediately calmed down and laughed,

"Truly! You are a genius unlike anyone I've ever seen and you have shaken my belief as a genius that only Cain and the young members of the great Families of the great empire could stand equal to."

Truly, Cao Fengzi was shaken to his core at seeing Feng Qin's true talent as a spirit master.

He was confident of his capabilities, especially since he was young and already a Spirit Elder when most people his age are only at two rings, and that he created techniques related to absorbing and controlling lightning as a form of martial arts he'd seen soldiers do.

But it looks like he wasn't the first one to do it...

But would this discovery discourage him from furthering his path? He knew that if someone with only a Spirit Scholar cultivation base could possess a purple spirit ring, then the potential for growth and power was limitless.

No! Ever since he took his first step into the spirit master world and went through many tribulations, he promised himself, that no matter what, he would achieve his goal.

He will take his steps forward in the great path of lightning, follow in the steps of his idol Tang Hao, and become a young Titled Douluo!

Cao Fengzi raised his hammer high, summoning the power of his lightning. Electricity danced along the length of the hammer, sparking with raw energy.

He grinned, his eyes filled with a newfound determination. "Hey kid, let's give these people a show they'll never forget. Show them what true geniuses are capable of!"

With his Yin-Lightning Hammer in hand, the power of his lightning had more than doubled in power.

Feng Qin nodded, a fire burning in his eyes. "Let's do this!"

In an instant, the two fighters clashed once again, their weapons colliding with incredible force. The arena shook with the impact, the ground cracking beneath their feet.

Purple flames and white lightning crackled and clashed, illuminating the arena with their intense energy. The audience watched on, captivated by the power and spectacle unfolding before them.

Feng Qin's strikes were fierce and precise, his sword dancing through the air with incredible speed. Each strike emitted a wave of scorching purple flames, pushing Cao Fengzi back with the sheer force of the impact.

But Cao Fengzi was not deterred. With his Yin-Lightning Hammer, he channeled the power of lightning into each swing, sending bolts of crackling energy towards Feng Qin. The force behind his attacks was staggering, causing the ground to tremble with each strike.

The two fighters moved with unmatched agility and grace, their movements almost too fast for the normal eye to follow. They spun, dodged, and parried with incredible skill, their bodies becoming blurs of purple and white.

The audience could hardly believe their eyes. This battle had surpassed their expectations, leaving them in awe of the power and skill displayed by both fighters. They cheered and gasped, unable to tear their eyes away from the spectacle before them.

As the battle raged on, Feng Qin took a deep breath, deciding to use the new sword style he came up with for the last couple weeks.

It was something that goes well with his fire attribute spirit power.

Flames spewed out of his mouth, moving his sheath to his side, Feng Qin sheathed his sword.

Everyone were expectedly surprised but Cao Fengzi didn't stop to gawk as he charges towards Feng Qin as he felt great danger.

That was a mistake.

Clang

"Flame Sword Style, 2nd Form: Rising Scorching Sun!"

Cao Fengzi widened his eyes as he saw the flames around Feng Qin intensify before disappearing. But the heat emitted from the flames could still be felt and it was overwhelming, causing sweat to bead on Cao Fengzi's forehead.

'His sword!' He immediately guessed where the flames went, he immediately halted and made to jump back.

But he was slightly too late. Having been baited to attack his opponent, he didn't realize how Feng Qin was going to launch his attack and recklessly went to attack.

Feng Qin unsheathed his sword with incredible speed, releasing an arcing vertical slash in an upwards motion towards Cao Fengzi. The flames shot towards him like a blazing ring of fire, leaving a trail of scorch marks in its wake.

Cao Fengzi quickly raised his hammer, his first spirit ring shone brightly and a yellow light covered it, its spirit ability is aptly called – Thunderbolt.

He summoned a powerful bolt of lightning to counter the attack. The lightning clashed with the flames, creating a brilliant display of light and energy.

The collision between their attacks was deafening, sending shockwaves of power reverberating through the arena. The ground trembled beneath their feet, cracks spreading outwards like a spider's web.

For a moment, time seemed to freeze as the two fighters locked eyes, their expressions filled with determination and unyielding resolve.
