"We're okay, it's just that something shocking has happened." Xu Shuang answered still shocked from the earlier encounter.

"What happened when you got struck by the two beams of light earlier? And what's with the marks on your forehead?" Xu Jinshan asked one question after another.

"Wait. What do you mean by marks on our foreheads?" Xu Shuang asked in a confused manner, but then she thought of something and immediately took out a mirror and looked at her forehead.

And just as she guessed, there's currently a purple rose mark on her forehead, this purple rose is slender with a huge open bloom, and has an elegant and royal vibe to it, with underlying feelings of destruction hidden within.

She then turned to look at Ye Lingling and found out that she was staring at her face too, Xu Shuang blushed when she saw her staring, then she was attracted by the mark on Ye Lingling's forehead.

It was colored green, the green one will see in healthy leaves of plants, and it was in the shape of a tree with a thick crown on top, it gave off a pure and innocent feeling.

Combine with the mark on her forehead, Ye Lingling's appearance becomes more refined and more innocent than before giving a cute charm rather than the goth vibes from before.

"Lingling, you also have a mark on your forehead, look." Xu Shuang said as she handed the mirror to Ye Lingling.

Ye Lingling took the mirror and smiled when she saw the tree mark on her forehead, seeing her smile so cutely, Xu Shuang couldn't help but pinch her cheeks as she said. [A/N: Regular cheeks on the face, not the other one.]

"Lingling, you are so adorable, I wish I could just stuff you in my pocket so that I can take you out and squeeze you like this."

Ye Lingling blushed at the sudden action as she tried to get Xu Shuang's hand off her face, but with no results, she can only sigh and let Xu Shuang pinch her cheeks.

"Ahem, Xu Shuang, we are getting out of the topic, what happened inside the beam of light? And what is the shocking thing you experienced?" Xu Jinshan coughed as he brought the conversation back to the topic.

Xu Shuang was embarrassed so she let go of Ye Lingling and started to talk about the things that happened inside the white space, like being a candidate to be a successor of god and trials.

If it were any other MCs they would have hidden the matter regarding the trials and did not accept any help from their elders.

But, in Xu Shuang's eyes, it was extremely stupid, the clan will only help you when you reveal your inheritance, and even give you massive amounts of resources to complete the trial.

Xu Jinshan was shocked when he heard what happened inside the white space, especially the matter regarding the inheritance of the gods.

"Is this all true Xu Shuang?" He asked with slight shaking in his voice, as the things said by Xu Shuang were indeed like legends that are used to deceive children.

"It's true Grandpa Jin, you see these marks on our foreheads? It's the mark of the gods we are candidates for inheriting, mine is a purple rose full of destruction and Ye Lingling's a tree of life." Xu Shuang said as she pointed at her forehead.

"HAHAHAHAHA, our Xu clan is really blessed, we have two inheritors of gods!" Xu Jinshan laughed loudly, Ye Lingling blushed because his words is the same as accepting her to be part of the family.

"Right! Xu Shuang your's and Ye Lingling's trial is scheduled 7 days later right where you need to fight top-notch ten-thousand-year spirit beasts?" Xu Jinshan asked.

"Yes, but Ye Lingling and I had been thinking about how to complete this trial."

"Alright, Xu Shuang pack your stuff with Ye Lingling, I'll take you guys out to fight different high-level ten-thousand-year spirit beasts, to get you more used to fighting spirit beasts with those strengths."

After he said that, Xu Shuang and Ye Lingling quickly packed their stuff and went back to Xu Jinshan after 15 minutes.

Xu Jinshan nodded and swept them off with his spiritual power and flew to the core area of Sunset forest, different from before Xu Jinshan's flight was more smooth than the first time when there would be loud sounds breaking through the air.

"The first spirit beast that you two will be fighting is a ten-thousand-year power-type spirit beast Four Armed Great Silver Ape, its a mutated Great Silver Ape a bit stronger than the original species, but not strong enough to be classified as a top-notch spirit beast."

"Since it's hard to predict what spirit beast you two will encounter in Ye Lingling's trial, it's easier to train against Xu Shuang's enemies since it will always be a power-type spirit beast."

Xu Shuang and Ye Lingling both nodded as they prepared to fight their enemy, they flew on for a while more, until Xu Shuang saw something that nearly gave her PTSD.

What the hell is a Great Silver Ape, this spirit beast looked nothing like the Great Silver Apes that she saw in Star Dou Forest, instead, it took on a more familiar figure that gave Xu Shuang countless nightmares when playing a certain game about hunting monsters.

It looked so similar to the monster Rajang from Monster Hunter with the addition of silver fur and having four arms instead of two.

But, just the similarity alone made her remember the countless times she died under its electric beams, and once the ape went super saiyan it was all over before she knew what was happening.

They landed a hundred meters behind the ape as it snored loudly sleeping with two hands behind its neck and two hands folded in front of its chest, it's a hulking 10 meters in size! This guy is taller than a freaking house!

"The fighting will be up to you two, I won't make a move unless you encounter really difficult situations like being crippled or killed."

"So that means that even if you were to be rubbed to the ground by that ape and sent flying by its punches, I won't come to save you unless the day is nearing to an end."

Xu Shuang and Ye Lingling nodded as they stretched to prepare themselves for the battle, then they slowly approached the ape and possessed their martial spirits.

"Wait, you hide over there Lingling, just give me buffs at the start of the match and some heals in the fight." Xu Shuang said as she pointed to a thick tree nearby.

As she possessed her martial spirit, she activated all of her spirit rings and decided to go all out from the start, Xu Shuang was excited at the thought of being able to go all out for the first time without having to worry about accidentally killing her opponent.

That's right, Xu Shuang has always held back in her battles of the same level, she just now hopes that this Rajang Look-a-like can hold on for a long time beating.

1st Spirit Ability: Enrage! Increase all attributes by 50%.

2nd Spirit Ability: Jiao's Ascension! Increase all attributes by 80% with strength being enhanced by 100%.

3rd Spirit Ability: Dragon's Velocity! Increase all attributes by 90% with speed being boosted by 120%.

4th Spirit Ability: Power of a Tyrant! Increase in all attributes by 200%.

After activating all of her spirit rings, a beam of white light hit her body, it was Ye Lingling's support that increased Xu Shuang's strength by another 30%.

Don't underestimate this 30%, it's a 30% boost on the strength that had been boosted by Xu Shuang's other skills, this is currently Xu Shuang's strongest form.

She then did a Meteor stance as she leaned slightly forward toward the ape, planning to sneak attack with her greatest strength.

"Meteor!"

Along with her shout, Xu Shuang disappeared from her place with astonishing speed, leaving a big crater on the ground she stood on.

She then appeared next to the ape's right knee as she thought that to have an advantage in the fight, and struck the knee with tremendous force.
