[Córdoba, Argentina]
It was a sunny day in the city of Córdoba; sounds of cars and birds echoed throughout the area.
Children ran down the street playing; some engaged in soccer with makeshift goals made of rocks, while others played water wars.
In general, it was a typical day in this beautiful city.
In a secluded part of the city, one could see a small but well-built humble house.
With the new mandate in the country, new measures were implemented, including assisting people in building their homes.
This was one of those homes, where Jonathan Mendez lived—a 20-year-old average young man who was abandoned at an orphanage.
It was thanks to the orphanage staff and his friends there that he managed to move forward, studying and striving for a better future.
In his room, there was a mid-range PC, posters of anime and video games, and anime figures surrounding a huge poster of Messi holding the World Cup.
RING, RING
"Woof, woof."
"Alright, alright, quiet down, Rocky."
With a wave of his hand, Jonathan turned off the alarm clock and petted his dog, Rocky.
Rocky was a street dog adopted by him when he moved here, partly to avoid feeling lonely and to have company.
"Alright, today is chest day; let's go, Rocky."
Taking the protein from the fridge, Jonathan prepared everything and headed to the gym near his house, with Rocky following him.
As he jogged, Jonathan began to recall how he got here, studying and putting socializing aside.
Not that he needed it; he had friends on Discord with whom he talked all night, so he lacked no friends.
Although sometimes, he called his orphanage brothers to meet up, talk about life, and enjoy a good Fernet.
While jogging and lost in his thoughts, Jonathan didn't realize a truck was passing on the sidewalk he was crossing.
Rocky barked, but when he noticed, it was already too late.
He could see in slow motion as the truck approached his face, and while his whole life passed before his eyes, he glimpsed his dog from the corner of his eye.
And with a single glance, he conveyed his regret about leaving Rocky alone, and then he was sent flying by the truck, dragged a few meters.
"Rocky... come..."
Speaking slowly, Jonathan pressed his hand where the truck hit him, trying to stay alive.
His dog came quickly and started licking him while crying.
"I have little time left, Rocky. I'm sorry to leave you alone. I just hope you find a family that loves you, and please... pee on my computer...."
For a moment, a glint passed through Rocky's eyes, and as if understanding, he nodded.
Without paying much attention to that, Jonathan looked up at the sky, ignoring the people shouting and the driver being scolded and beaten by the neighbors.
He looked at the bright sun, like a lamp providing light and warmth to the world. Someday, he dreamed of having the power of the sun in his hands, to see what that giant star was capable of.
He regretted many things: not having a girlfriend, not finishing Dark Souls, not creating the Douluo fanfiction he had almost completed.
Finally, with a last breath, Jonathan's soul left his body—a soul with many dreams to fulfill, but unfortunately, fate was cruel.
[Unknown time later]
In Jonathan's house, his things were being taken to the orphanage as a gift, as he left a will stating that in case of an accident, all his belongings would go to the orphanage, except for the anime figures and posters, which would go to a friend.
[Continent Douluo, Kingdom of the Shadowed Wings]
Despite the name of the Kingdom, it enjoyed great seasons where there was a bright and scorching sun.
Within this great kingdom, in a small village on the outskirts, there was a couple of soul masters guarding it by order of the king.
The man was called Long Feng, and the mother Xiu Mei—both great warriors who were under the king's orders when he was younger.
Because they wanted to start a family and enjoy peace, the king sent them to take care of this village, where they could settle and enjoy the peace they deserved.
Currently, in their house, there were people crowded at the door.
"Come on, Mei, I can see it now."
Inside the house were three people: a handsome, robust man with two blood-red eyes and dark hair, who looked at the woman agonizing on the bed with concern and love.
The woman, slender with a great body, coffee-colored hair, and golden eyes, could be called a goddess with how beautiful she was, although she was currently suffering because she was giving birth to her son.
The third person was a short old woman who was the village's doctor and in charge of deliveries.
"Push a little more, a little more."
"Ah."
With a final push, a baby's cry echoed in the room. Mei Ling, the midwife, wrapped the baby in a blanket and carefully handed him to the woman.
"Look, dear, he has my eyes and your hair. My Xin'er is so beautiful."
"That's right, love."
With a warm embrace, the couple looked at their son, who calmed down and looked around the room with great curiosity.
[Point of view of Long Xin (Jonathan)]
When I died, it felt so strange—painful but peaceful at the same time.
Feeling darkness surrounding and embracing me, sinking into its warm embrace.
The peace I felt was incredible until it happened; I saw light.
I felt gravity pulling me and twisting me at a strange angle, and I felt like I was coming out of something tight, and a great amount of pain made me want to cry.
I felt like I was wrapped in something warm, and when I opened my eyes wide, I saw the most beautiful woman looking at me with affection and love.
Trying to touch her cheek to see if this was true, I realized my hand was small. Then I realized I was a baby and that I reincarnated.
I reincarnated!! I became the protagonist of a novel! But before continuing with my delusions, my eyelids gradually closed, and darkness embraced me again, giving me peace.
Hello! How are you? Long time no see! I have a lot to tell you, really, but in summary, I had to take many exams, practical work, and presentations at school, as well as play with my friends, and I completely forgot about my other fanfic.
To be honest, I read it, and there are many things I wanted to change, but when I tried to write, I lost interest. So, I directed my ideas to other ffs, and I wrote 2, both of Douluo Dalu, but I decided to write this one.
Simply because I was more interested in writing this one, it doesn't mean I'm leaving my other DxD ff; I will restart it when I have a writer's block with this ff because at some point it will happen.
I'm writing more chapters to have them saved, so in a week, I will start uploading a chapter daily, and if I upload earlier, it's because of the support you gave!
When the MC awakens his martial soul
, I will upload an auxiliary chapter with information about him, his family, some background of the world, etc.
By the way, this is an AU (Alternate Universe)!!!
Well, that's all for now. See you later!
