chapter 54: Nightmare

Next evening...

Strong wind blowing with the hailstones all over the city of Z, They are clattering in the rooftops before they fell in the grounds roads of the city somewhat looking white

the fury of the storm was increasing minutes by minutes lots of parts in the city plunged into darkness as heavy raindrops falling on the grounds, Dangerous sound of thunders capable enough to shake the core of human hearts echoing in the atmosphere

In that heavy rain and deadly atmosphere, one guy was standing in front of a big apartment wearing black soaked clothes practically invisible to everyone because darkness surrounded him like the air around his body. except when Thunder roaring in the sky and exposing his whereabouts to everyone

" Scarlett..." Don dissolved in that atmosphere

" Hurry up ...and change the fuse you idiot "

one guy shouted gesturing to another guy to speed up the process

" I am doing ... but this is hard ... we have to wait until this storm passes out "Another guy responded

" Fuck ... are you sure there was no other way to turn on the generator? "

" No ...but... hey I saw someone there " That guy pointed his trembling finger in that direction

Another guy who was holding his torches searched that basement entirely but there was no one around

" Woah do you think I am easy to fool ... Let's go dumbass we have to report to others "

Don appeared in front of Big generator after two guards left the basement and pulled some wires out of the generator making the shock circuit in the machine " This will work for sure "

" Everything is ...fine ...there is no need to be afraid Scarlett...you are brave " Scarlett mumbled loudly as she covered herself with the entire blanket with shaking hands

She was lying in the bed and constantly muttering a few words repeatedly with the light of cell phone in her hands under the blanket

"There are no evil spirits nearby ...and you are falling asleep...slowly ...slowly"

Thunder roared in the sky loudly made Scarlett scream in the fear

" Oh...god ...no ...please show some mercy ...please "

Don was watching her for a while now with a grin on his face, He knew for some reason she had feared the darkness a lot and like to sleep when lights are on.

This is the best opportunity he ever asked for to get the information he wanted from her. Don slowly walked over to her and wrenched the blanket away from her

Scarlett manages to calm herself down a bit but suddenly someone forcefully wrenched the blanket that she was using as cover from darkness and unpredictable lights of thunder.

Because of the reflection of light on her cell phone, she managed to take a glimpse of a black figure standing beside her.

Colour drained out of her face, she screamed as she fell to the ground and dragged herself backward until her back places on the wall

with shaking hands, she pointed her cell phone torch in that location but she could only able to detect an empty spot and nothing else besides her other stuff in the room

" maybe ...I am imaging things-"

The door slammed shut making a loud voice

And because of that noise, Scarlett was terrified and dropped her cell on the surface, after that the torch vanished completely.

" No..no not now ..." She impatiently attempts to turn on the lights but her phone died with lots of cracks emerged on her display

She heard lots of noise coming from the hall but she didn't dare to go after that voice, She wraps her arms around her legs and buried her head between her hands as she began sobbing.

After few minutes passed and that noise stopped unexpectedly, she raised her head slightly as she dug her nails in her hands

" Do you afraid of death ?"

A deep voice echoed through the room even after Scarlett attempted to locate the direction of voice there was no chance to find that source of the voice

" Who...are..you ?" Scarlett cried looking at the darkness in front of her

"..."

there was no response from that voice, Scarlett's worry increased by folds coz of that deadly calmness. She stood on the ground and unlocked the window to see if there was anyone able to help her

The storm calmed down a little a bit but it was not enough to reach her voice to the security guards

she about to shout from the window but someone pulled back her gripping her chin tightly and slammed on the wall beside the window

She felt the cold hand of that person grabbing her chin lightly as if only for kept her still,

her eyes wide open after seeing that guys face

" Playtime is over ..." Don locked gaze with Scarlett as his face was few inches away from hers.

" Don.."

" I trusted you, Scarlett... " He wept leaning towards her slightly

a tear rolls down from her eyes as she avoided her gaze from him " I ..am sorry ..i "

" No look at me ... I just wanted a normal life but you guys ... " Don made her look back at him as he summoned a white dagger in his hand

Scarlett started up trembling after looking at the dagger she gave him months ago, She had never thought that someday he will use this against her

" Tell me who send Gabriel to kill me was that you or your family?" Don places a dagger on her throat.

She swallowed hard looking at his knife on her throat. If she told their names then knowing Don's demeanor he will go after them no matter what happens, regardless of his low strength

she knew there are always other higher rankers as their bodyguard around them all the time. She never saw someone's powers like Don he was almost invisible to her. she knew even after he managed to go near Amy he can't stand against her powers he will be killed in no time.

she already involved him in her matters and they nearly killed him because of her, she won't want to see this again or somehow Don managed to kill her or aunt Olivia there was plenty of chance he will encounter her grandpa or uncle Shane.

she was hesitant because They are still her family no matter what they do to her she doesn't want to lose other family members like her father and mother

there are only a few people who were close to Scarlett until now and one of them was Don, there was some kind of invisible force around Don that pull Scarlett towards him regardless of her resistance

If this conflict occurred then no matter who wins she would be the one who was going to sacrifice someone important to her, she already lost so many people but she doesn't want to lose, not anymore

She stares into his eyes in determination to face him but no matter what, whenever she tried to speak words won't come out of her mouth.

" Do you know ...how I killed Gabriel"

Her mouth fell open after hearing his words, firstly she thought something other than Don killed Gabriel but it was confirmed that he killed him after his sentence

" What did you sai-"

" He begged in front of me to spare his life ...he wanted to protect you ...Filthy dog "

" Stop it ..."

" I broke his legs ..then his hands, forced him to drag his own body like reptile " Don further continue after seeing her face " After seeing his suffering I felt happy ...Scarlett "

"I Beg you please ...stop it, Don " She tried to move but Don forcefully subdued her

" Like this ...Baldy died a brutal death "

Don thought after hearing him she will be more scared but her reaction was the opposite, Her anger rose after hearing every word from his lips

She stopped crying and stared at him without blinking her eyes " You are a monster ..."
