William Griffith laughed, and seeing him relax, Julian Brown also breathed a sigh of relief.
William's gaze seemed to be searching for something, but he couldn't find it.
Julian got the hint: "Looking for your little girlfriend? She just left, I had the driver take her home."
So that's what happened.
Julian looked at William, walked up to him, and looked down at him: "What are you thinking?"
"What do you mean, 'What are you thinking'?" William pretended not to understand.
"Don't play dumb, that girl, what are you thinking?"
He was referring to Cherish Turner.
"I want to be with her."
Nothing else mattered, as long as they were together.
"Are you crazy?"
"I'm very sober."
"You know very well that's impossible!"
William stopped talking and stared blankly into the distance.
Julian looked at him and sighed. He shouldn't have said those things to him.
Time to change the subject.
