Rising up the ranks of a god is different once you cross a certain point.
From Demigod to High God one rises purely through strength.
Once you reach God King you must have faith from other minor gods and minor mortal realms.
To break free from the limit of God King you must develop a divinity. While it was optional before.
I.e God of War, God of Nature, etc.
It is possible for there to be multiple gods of the same divinity, as long as they are of different ranks.
So, there can be a True God of War and a God King of War, but there cannot be God Kings of War.
To pass the god of a higher divinity, you must defeat that god and absorb their divine soul. Increasing your understanding and control over that dinvinity.
It is also possible to inherit divinity through different means.
From there it's all about mastery of your divinity, faith, and strength combined.
Supreme God is the strongest you can get naturally. One cannot become Primordial as you must simply be born as one.
Primordial God of Death, Primordial God of Life, these are already existing concepts so the highest you can be is Supreme God of Death.
* Rule
God Kings are in control of small realms of lower ranked gods.
God Rulers control the larger realms that encase the small ones, making them the overall rulers.
Ancient Gods are special as they only take the form of beasts instead of divinity.
So Dragon, Phoenix, Lions, even Elephants are possible.
Ancient Gods could rival Supreme gods depending on their abilities.
Supreme Gods can create their own realms that they rule and can do whatever they want.
Primordial Gods haven't been seen since the Primordial Age.
