Then he lifted his hand and pinned Mu Hanxia's shoulder against the shelf behind her.

Mu Hanxia's eyes suddenly widened in shock. He looked down at her.

In the tight space, light slanted down from above their heads, casting a hazy glow on their faces. It was silent around, so quiet that only Mu Hanxia could hear her own heartbeat. Suddenly, she smelled the mild scent of soap and tissues from the shelf behind her. Before her was his tall, slim silhouette, the face of a young man so close. His eyes, however, were like cold stones in water, staring at her.

"I've been soft on you already," he said, "otherwise, you'd already have been sent to the police station by now."

Mu Hanxia's heart thumped wildly, and her face felt a bit hot from his stare. She shoved him away.

He turned and left.

Mu Hanxia followed closely behind him.
